Terms and Conditions for Agency for distribution of CBSE price publications effective from the Calendar year 2006. 1. An agency for the States/UTs of the country will be allotted to firms located in each State/UT, who have sound financial background. A Security Deposit of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) will be paid to the CBSE by the distributor/agency appointed by the Board. The Board will not pay any interest on this security deposit. The firm should have sufficient space for storage of CBSE publications. The Agreement shall be valid for one year, i.e. from 1st January to 31st December or for the remaining part of the Calendar year, if the agreement is signed after 1st January. The Agreement may be extended further, solely at the discretion of the Board. The agent will submit his annual requirement of Boards textbooks by the month of September. The decision regarding the number of copies to be allotted to the agent will vest with the CBSE solely and no representation in this regard will be entertained. All supplies of CBSE publications shall be made strictly on pre-payment basis against confirmed orders. The distributor will lift the CBSE publications by making payment in the shape of a single demand draft from CBSE/Printer of book. No loading/unloading charges and no local transportation charges will be paid by the CBSE and the wholesale agent will have to make his own arrangement in this regard. The agents will be allowed a trade discount of 15% on CBSE price publications. Firms seeking appointment as wholesale agent /distribute will have to apply to the Secretary, CBSE on the prescribed form available for Rs. 250/(Rupees two hundred fifty only) with a fee of Rs. 500/- again which will not be refundable in the shape of crossed Bank Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE. The Secretary, CBSE shall be the final authority in accepting or rejecting any request for allotment of wholesale agency without assigning any reason thereof. For any breach of Terms and Conditions given in the Agreement, the CBSE shall be within its right to terminate the Agreement and forfeit the security deposit. In the event of any dispute or difference arising out of or in connection with the said agreement the same shall be referred to the Secretary, CBSE for settlement.
