Chapter VI TYPOLOGY OF NURSING PROBLEMS This chapter presents the identified family nursing problems that are presently

occurring or may occur in the family. These problems reflect the familys inability to perform certain aspects of health tasks.

Cues/Data Their house is constructed with walls made of bamboo tied together and covered with a thatched roof using nipa leaves. Mrs. P claimed that sometimes, their food is not adequate for six (6) household members especially the rice. She also admitted that there are times when they could not have meriendas or dinner at night. Other basic necessities such as clothing and shelter

resources for care, specially cost constraints or economic/financial inaccessibility. 2. Inability to provide adequate nursing care to the sick member of the family due to: a) Lack or inadequate knowledge about the disease/health condition; b) Lack of or inadequate knowledge about the nature and extent of nursing care needed; c) Lack of knowledge and skill in carrying out necessary treatment/ procedure/ care; and d) Inadequate family resources for care, specifically financial constraints. 3. Failure to utilize community resource for health care due to fear of financial consequences of action.
