Aug. 17,2012 Maasinhon Trio, Marcelito Pomoy Held A Concert AT City Gymnasium By Quirico M. Gorpido,Jr.

Maasin City, Southern Leyte-Maasinhon Trio and Marcelito Pomoy held a concert at the city gymnasium here in the evening of 12th year Charter Day celebration of this component city. The concert whose performers were both Grand Final winners-the Maasinhon Trio, ABS-CBNs Filipinas Got Talent season 3 winner, and Marcelito Pomoy,Filipinas Got Talent season 2 winner were indeed crowd drawers. With tickets prices quite affordable to low income and the middle class families (unlike the other concert the following night whose tickets were very much higher), the city gymnasium was jampacked with concertgoers from all walks of life-the youngsters, the teenagers, adolescents, adults and the elderly. The Maasinhon Trio composed of Bonifacio Salubre,Lucinio Lolo and Andrew Sanchez have performed well, giving their very best to entertain their fans and sundry. They rendered a total of 12 songs, originally sang in single tunes; but they converted it into 3 different pitch of voices in harmonious blending to the great delight of music lovers. When Marcelito Pomoys name was announced by a guest singer FGT finalist Jetziel Dimagna-Ong,the audinece shrieked and screamed as he appeared on stage. His rendition of Jose Mari Chans Please Be Careful With My Heart has proven his vocal chords versatility of naturally and effortlessly shifting from a female voice to male voice. Here is a singer whose rare gift of having a natural double karaoke voice has helped him greatly of his being a poor and an abandoned child at 2 years old.For 25 years I have not meet my family, he confided to the audience.It was thru my participation in the Filipinas Got Talent that I was able to unite my familyIts hard if you have no family. Pomoy also admonished the young to take care of themselves and to avoid taking illegal drugs. With his kind of playful antics so acceptable to the genre of audience, he made his fans/admirers enjoy the show to the fullest. While rendering some other songs he went down the stage, looking for a girl who can likewise sing with him for a duet at the stage or can sing alternately with him. He handpicked 2 teenagers as his duo in singing, but only the second girl was able to sing with him in earnest. And like the Maasinhon Trio, he also posed for photos with some of his fans while singing close to his audience. Prior to the closing of the concert sponsored by Gawad Kalinga in partnership with the City of Maasin and Rolly Manalo, including the participation of the Good Directions Band, the Trio together with the Duo rendered The Prayer.

Pomoy did the female voice while the Trio shared each the entire song by stanzas with Marcelito,thus providing a satisfying blending of harmoniously voices for good calming effects for the ears and the hearts of all the listeners. Dr. Jerome Paler,Gawad Kalinga Provincial Coordinator, who witnessed the solid patronage from concertgoers, who some of them were no longer allowed to enter the gate because it was already full of people, announced that he will ask Mayor Samaco to make the gym more bigger to accommodate more people during concert or any special event.(Quirico M.
