VESTRY HIGHLIGHTS
May 16, 2012 Gifts and Bequests Fund: This fund is the result of undesignated gifts to Trinity usually in memory of, and overseen by a committee composed of Anne McCollom, Frank Lang, and Chris Amorelli. Vestry approved development of a Request for Proposals (RFP) form to be written by Fr Tony and distributed to all parish committees, soliciting ideas for projects that might be funded with this money. An example of most recent funding was for development of Godly Play. Oral History Project Update: Two people so far have volunteered for training in this project, Ann Magill and Russ Otte. At least one more is needed. Chinese Services Update: Fr. Tony reported that the Bishop has enthusiastically approved offering a service in Chinese at Trinity. He hopes to use the Rite II version in modern Chinese from the Hong Kong Prayer Book, and to start this special service in June. New Chairs/Altar Rail: Discussion centered on need for additional chairs in the Narthex due to chairs moved to accommodate choir expansion. Cost and chair type will be investigated along with possible change in the altar rail, as well as creative ways to maximize limited space in the chancel area. Respite Care Program Proposal: The Vestry will entertain a specific proposal from Elizabeth Hallett for use of the Parish Hall as a respite center. This would be a spot that folks with various forms of dementia or other problems could be looked after as a way to give family care-givers a break. Trinity space has been used for this in the past. Revisiting Worship and Liturgy: A new look at how we worship, how we can make good things even better, has been embraced enthusiastically by the Worship Committee and is in the future for a discernment process by the entire church. Fr. Tony is interested in the congregation taking a careful look at who we are, where our greatest joy is, and how that joy can best meet the needs of our congregation and community. Authenticity, Joy, and Healing are three of his guide words at present.
