My Philosophy

For almost 4 months of studying Philosophy, Ive realized and become more interested of myself and the things around me. Some topics were just nothing to me before like the concept of body and soul but through Philosophy, it made me think and ccurious of what is really true. Body and Soul is my most favorite topic because it really made me curious about ones body and soul. It made me think if the soul really goes out in our body if we die or if the body and soul is two different things living inside me. The movie Heart and Soul helped me understand more about it. I have also liked the movie because its not only funny but it made me realize that we should really value our lives because we will never know when and where it will be taken from us. While we are still alive we should know what we need and want to for us not to regret in the end. It is also good that we have tackled different propositions about the concept so we can understand more the difference between the two. The movie have really made me think of what is really the true theory of body and soul but I believe that no matter what is the truth, body and soul are 2 important quantities needed for a person to exist in the world. I can still remember the first topic discussed which is freedom. I learned that freedom is the ability of a person to do what he wants and needs to without any hindrances and with all the confidence. A person is free if he is able to choose between different choices he encounters in his life. A person is free if he is able to ask questions about his world and his entity. A person is also free if he is able to think and ask. A person can never choose if he is not aware of options, of different possibilities and of various alternatives. For example, a person cannot love if he doesnt even know what is love and how love happens. Freedom should always be in conjunction with will and knowledge. We should also remember that choosing does not just happen sometimes in a life of a person. Remember, choosing happens in every second and every move we have. Its the choice between to live or die in that moment or to fight or fly to the situations we encounter.

A person without will is not free because these people are those that are driven only by the people or situations around them. They dont believe in their selves and in the idea that that they will succeed on their own way. Freedom cant be felt, it should be done. If i didnt have any will, i will just maybe in my room staring blanky in the world. If there is will, choices will be overflowing but if there is not, he ends to be blind with all of these. I believe that if a person really have the will or urge to fight for what he know is good, everything will be done in the way he want it to be. Everybody are always faced with choices and this people always choose what they know will bring good to them and to the others. Its always the will that drives us to what we really want. Choices are made to test us, to test our will, our knowledge, our confidence and our soul if we really have the guts to do it. Freedom is equal to choices. If the freedom we have is great then our choices are great too. For example, a person is rich, he have so many great choices in life. He can either just go happy all his life unlike a poor person who doesnt have a choice but to keep on workingto survive or else he will die because of starvation. Lets always keep in mind to use out freedom wisely. Every person is unique and do believes in different things but what is important is that we believe in and hold on to what we believe is good. That is what we call freedom. The topic Authencity and Morality also helped me to decide on things if they were right or wrong. For me, i define morality as the persons ability to abide with the Law of God and Law of people and also to act according to what is expected from him and also it is the act I need to show in front of the people for me to be respected as a person. And authenticity is the act that I want to show no matter what others will say and think about me. People differ from each other. Every person is unique. No matter what we want to be, we have the right to do it and we should respect each others perspective for us to be respected also. For me, morality is defined as a. A person have no right to judge a person if what he do is right or wrong. We all have our different definition of right or wrong. What you think is right might be wrong for me. Each person is unique. We just have to respect and understand it. For me, a person is moral if he knows what he is doing. He knows in the sense that it acts according to the Divine and Earth Law, he does not hurt anyone or anything and lastly if he is happy with what he is doing. An immoral person is the one who violates the Laws set by God and by the people. An immoral person is the very opposite of a moral person. They dont have

good manners and right conduct. But as what I have said, we can never judge a person if he is moral or not. For example, the gays and lesbians. We may see them immoral because we believe that only the female and male are the genders that God have created but with them, they believe and stand that they are moral. They may be from the third sex but still they act according to the law of people. Their only mistake is that they cant accept to be in the sex that they need to be so they did their own and they have the right to express their selves, they dont hurt anybody and they are happy for what they are doing which are the factors needed by the person to be called moral. A person cant dictate another to do what he is expected to do. We all have our own decisions, thoughts and emotions. We just have to follow them and respect and understand it, and it can be an act of morality. Genuine Dialogue also helped me how to have a good communication skills with other people. It is a very important to have a good communication skills because this helps us to prevent fights between each other because we can understand truly what other people want to say. When we communicate with other people we should do the speaking than the talking because speaking is more purposive and meaningful than talking. We should also listen than hear because when we listen we do not only hear the words spoked by other people but we also place it in our hearts and minds. We should also be honest when we speak to other people because it is one way of showing our love and respect for them. The most interesting topic we also had is about love. Love has always been a never ending issue because it really involves each and everyone of us. With love, I only believe to the phrase Love always come with sacrifice. When we love, we should always be prepared to gain and lose something. We can never say that every relationship does not encounter problems. Problems always arises and we can never stop it because it will always be a part in the humans life. What we should do is to have faith in each other and of course to God.
