The1988(April)amendmentstoSOLAS Theamendmentsaffectregulations23and42ofChapterII 1oftheSOLAS The amendments affect regulations 23 and 42 of Chapter II1 of the SOLAS Convention.Thefirstdealswiththeintegrityofthehullandsuperstructure,damage preventionandcontrolandinvolvestheadditionofanewregulation232which requiresthatindicatorsbeprovidedonthenavigatingbridgeforalldoorswhich,if leftopen,couldleadtomajorfloodingofaspecialcategoryspaceoraroro cargo l f ld l d j fl di f i l space.
