For Heritage Education, I worked with the local chaper of docomomo Louisiana, the regional chapter of an international committee dedicated to the documentation and conservation of the buildings, sites and neighborhoods of the modern movement. (docomomo-nola.blogspot.com) I worked with Francine Stock on several projects. One project was a nomination of a modern building for the New Orleans Nine Most Endangered Sites Listing which is modeled on the National Trust for Historic Preservations Most Endangered program (www.louisianalandmarks.org). I researched the history and the current state of the Plaza Tower in the Central Business District. I found several historical photographs and several articles in the New York Times. I completed to form to be submitted. Another project was the New Orleans Regional Modernism App which was designed to highlight the significant, threatened and lost modern architecture of New Orleans. (itunes) I researched and photographed several homes and buildings that were included in the app. I also helped with the Modernism Along the Avenue bicycle tour. I was bike herder and helped lead the group along the three hour ride through the Garden District and Uptown. Finally, I helped with documenting the Phillis Wheatley Elementary School building and surrounding neighborhood. I took pictures every ten or so feet all the way around the building. These were used in a video about the school entiled A Plea for Modernism.
