    MANY BUILDINGS LACK ELECTRICAL SAFETY

    Most of the fire accidents in the city are occurring due to short-circuits. Despite safety related stipulations in the electricity act 2003 and central electricity authority regulations 2010, the mechanisms for approval and inspection of power supply infrastructure in majority of the buildings is ineffective. Figures available with CEI show that 8,178 multi-storeyed buildings were checked since 2001 in the entire state of AP and most of them are still to produce the authentication from a certified electrical contractor about the soundness of the installations to carry the connected load.

    A majority of government buildings including the secretariat and govt. Hospitals lack fire safety systems. On the other hand electrical safety audit is the only tool which can help to scan the electrical systems and pinpoint areas prone for such accidents. One third of the buildings which experienced accidents were due to electric origin. Short circuits are one cause for such fire accidents. In addition load unbalance and poor quality of cables also result in fire accidents.

    All these can be effectively checked by IR INFRA RED THERMOGRAPHY instrument. Associated engineering services are fully equipped with the inspection system to inspect buildings, banks, hospitals, etc for certifying buildings for freedom against fire hazards.
