Abstract
Presently all the hospital functionalities are done manually in Nepal. Manual documentation highly relies on large volume of paper. It is unsecure and consumes lots of time. In this electronic world everything is getting computerized and networked so we have decided to build web based Hospital Management System for better performance, greater security, high reliability and faster service. The idea of Hospital Management System is to improve service conditions and costs as well as to provide timely responses to equipment preventive maintenance and infrastructure requirements. Hospital Management System will include registration of patients, storing their details into the system, doctors information and appointment of patient with the doctor. It involves interaction among the hospital staff and professionals of other disciplines in dealing with equipment, infrastructure, etc, to fulfill the objectives.

INTRODUCTION
Life in the 21st century is full of technological advancement and in this technological age it is very difficult for any organization to survive without utilizing technology. The World Wide Web contributes greatly to the creation of an everincreasing global information database. It could also be used as a mechanism to share information within an enterprise. So web based Hospital Management System is required for hospitals for sharing, transfer, easy and proper maintenance of hospital records of patients as well as staffs of hospitals. Our software shall provide the facility to give a unique id for every patient and stores the details of every patient and the staff automatically. The software shall involve interaction among the hospital staff and professionals for maintaining the overall hospital system at an acceptable operational level

EXISTING SYSTEM
Existing system refers to the system that is being followed till now. Presently all the hospital functionalities are done manually. That is if a patient want to consult a doctor he should wait there till his chance called. This makes the person very difficult. The main disadvantage is time consuming.

LIMITATIONS OF EXISTING SYSTEM

Lack of security of data. Time consuming. Consumes large volume of paper work. Manual work No direct role for the higher officials. To avoid all these limitations and make the system working more accurately it needs to be computerized.

OBJECTIVES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM

The Hospital management system software is user-friendly software. The main objectives of the system is its simplicity of design and easy of implementation that shows and helps to collect most of the information about Hospitality and Medical Services. The system requires very low system resources and the system will work in almost all configurations. The main objectives of the proposed system can be enumerated as follows: Patients are easily allocated to the doctors. Doctors Search could be possible. Patient list would help doctors to search their patients

ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM

The system would be very simple in design and easy to implement. The system requires very low system resources and the system will work in almost all configurations. Security of data. Ensure data accuracy. Administrator controls the entire system. Reduce the damages of the machines. Minimize manual data entry. Greater efficiency. User friendly and interactive. Minimum time required.

DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM
For the development of the software system, the PHP programming language shall be used, because it allows us to generate simple user interfaces and also to work with different database engines. MySQL database is the world's most popular open source database because of its fast performance, high reliability, ease of use, and dramatic cost savings. So we decided to use MySQL database at the backend for data management. It has powerful features of data management to access the data efficiently. All the information stored in the database can be filtered, so as to offer the user only the most relevant data

FEATURES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM

The proposed system shall be based on MVC pattern i.e., Model-View-Controller. Model-View-Controller is a fundamental design pattern for the separation of user interface logic from business logic. Model: The model manages the behavior and data of the application domain, responds to requests for information about its state (usually from the view), and responds to instructions to change state (usually from the controller). View: The view manages the display of information. Controller: The controller interprets the mouse and keyboard inputs from the user, informing the model and/or the view to change as appropriate. Figure 1 depicts the structural relationship between the three objects.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
It depends upon the situation and the nature of hospital whether it can implement the computerized Hospital Management System in a single stage or in a phased manner. It shall include the training period where a hospital staff shall be given training on how to use the system effectively. We can regularly visit the hospital to render onsite support for implementation. Depending upon the requirements, we will decide on the duration to stay at the hospital.

CONCLUSION
The described approach to Hospital Management System is very important in the medical field to implement it in the hospital to move with the pace of changing technology. Due to the flexible nature of the software it encourage the user i.e., Hospital Administration to implement it in their hospital. Furthermore, the appropriate use of the system demands extensive training and continuous trial to adapt the computerized Hospital Management System to the needs of the hospital and to adapt the working routines of the hospital to take advantage of the new system to improve management and ultimately the health care services.
