Caterpillar Work Tools have been developed specifically for Caterpillar Backhoe Loaders to deliver exceptional performance, versatility, serviceability and customer support. Performance and Versatility. Cat Work Tools are designed to optimize machine versatility and flexibility, and to deliver maximum performance, durability and reliability when used on Cat Backhoe Loaders. They enable a single machine to perform a variety of tasks in a wide range of applications. For added versatility, some Cat Backhoe Loader Work Tools are interchangeable between Cat Integrated Toolcarriers, Small Wheel Loaders and Telehandlers. Consult individual machine Operation & Maintenance Manual for proper loading capabilities. Ease of Operation. These tools are designed with the operator in mind. Hook-up is easily accomplished for fast, secure work tool changes with the unique IT hydraulic quick coupler design. Hose routing, hose length and quick disconnects have been optimized to ensure proper guiding, protection and fit-up. Tool operation is easy with Cats excavator-style joystick design, which puts control of work tool functions at the operators fingertips.

Serviceability. Caterpillar Work Tools utilize proven components, such as Caterpillar hydraulic hose, couplings, O-ring face seals, hardware and Ground Engaging Tools (G.E.T.). Each of these components is easily replaceable to extend work tool life, simplify servicing and reduce downtime. Customer Support. Quick Couplers. Cat Backhoe (rear) Work Tools can be equipped with a manual quick coupler with pin grabber arrangement, allowing use of a wide range of compatible tools. Cat Loader (front) Work Tools use the proven Cat IT hydraulic quick coupler, which allows operators to quickly change from one high performance work tool to another.

Cat Backhoe Buckets

Variety of styles accommodates most jobsite needs.
Caterpillar offers six types of backhoe buckets for Cat Backhoe Loaders. While they share many common features, each is designed to perform certain specific tasks. All buckets are pin-on unless a pin-lock option is available. Standard duty buckets are available in five widths, all with standard Diagonal Retention System adapters and teeth. They are designed for general light duty excavation in soft soil or clay. - curved wrapper enhances bucket loading and curling action - cutting edges and routers are hardened to resist wear by abrasive materials - integrated G.E.T. adapters reinforce bucket corners and add strength to resist weld cracks - linkage geometry is optimized for greater vertical wall and clamping capability Heavy duty buckets are available in six widths (pin-on and pin-lock), all with standard Diagonal Retention System adapters and teeth. They are especially well suited for semi-rocky soil or where hard bank material must be broken out and removed. - wrapper design is similar to standard duty buckets but is more robust, with thicker side plates and cutting edge

Heavy duty rock buckets are available in five widths, all with standard Diagonal Retention System adapters and teeth. They are specifically designed to work in the harsh rocky conditions found in various regions of the world. - wrapper design is similar to heavy duty buckets but features prying capability and resistance to denting and crushing - side wear plates and transversely mounted wear strips under the bottom of the bucket provide added strength and durability High capacity buckets are offered in four pin-on widths and six pin-lock widths and are especially well suited for work in lower density soils and light materials. They have the same durable characteristics as heavy duty buckets but are capable of moving greater volumes. - a longer bucket floor provides greater capacity and allows an overall increase in tip radius

Coral buckets are specifically designed to work in rocky coral conditions such as those found on the southeastern coast of the United States. Four widths are available - shorter bucket floor with reinforced structure provides greater breakout force - 80 percent more Diagonal Retention System teeth than their heavy duty counterparts Ditch cleaning buckets are offered in three widths designed to provide optimum trenching, slope-cutting, grading and finishing work. Features include: - wide, shallow design, ideal for many types of applications - drainage holes in each side of the bucket allow water to drain while retaining material - internal bracing for structural support and rigidity

Cat Auger
Designed for drilling deep holes in many soil conditions.
The Caterpillar Auger is designed for drilling holes for footings, fence posts, signs, tree and shrub plantings, and light tower boring in construction, agricultural and landscaping applications. Designed with the right balance of speed and torque for maximum productivity in many soil types. The right amount of speed is necessary to efficiently move material up the auger bit and out of the hole. Optimal torque is required to prevent stalling when drilling in tough applications. Planetary drive unit with lock nut system provides reliable operation and superior shaft retention when boring in tough material. In-line double reduction planetary reduction gearbox multiplies torque output for efficient operation. 2-inch HEX output drive shaft provides strongest industry connection to auger bit.

Cat Hydraulic Hammers

Essential in a variety of demolition and construction applications.
Caterpillar Hydraulic Hammers are designed to break up concrete, asphalt or rock in demolition, road construction, driveway and sidewalk removal and bridge renewal applications. The hydraulic hammer produces a heavy, destroying blow that is transmitted through the tool to the surface. Long, heavy piston delivers maximum impact energy while minimizing recoil forces to the work tool and machine. Replaceable thrust bushing dissipates harmful shock loads for longer hammer life. Full length side plates protect the power cell and front end from damage. Integrally mounted high pressure accumulator dampens pressure peaks to protect the machines hydraulic system and quick disconnects. Low pressure accumulator assists the power stroke of the piston. High oil volume distributor valve provides greater blow frequency for increased productivity. Pressure adjusting valve allows the hammer to accept full hydraulic output from the excavator for increased blow rate and provides consistent output energy per impact for maximum performance. Retention pin system allows quick and easy removal of the work tool. Hammer tool options include a chisel, moil, spade and compacting plate.

Cat Thumb
Designed for grasping irregular shaped objects with ease.
Caterpillar Thumbs are designed to work with backhoe buckets to easily grab, pick up, handle and load irregular or loose material. Thumbs are ideal for handling wooden logs, poles, brush, metal, trash, rock and debris in site clean up, land clearing, landscaping, material handling and construction applications. Caterpillar offers two styles of thumbs with both stiff link and hydraulic cylinder actuation. Pivot mount allows thumb to follow bucket path during rotation. Interchangeable tines designed for specific job requirements and application versatility. Retractable thumb allows normal bucket loading when not in use. Convertible base thumb can be easily changed from stiff link to hydraulic cylinder actuation.

Well suited for pipeline and trenching work.
The Caterpillar Ripper is designed to break up hard soil and ice during ground preparation work. Single-tooth design. Reinforced one-piece shank is made of high wear-resistant Hardox 400 steel.

Cat Vibratory Plate Compactor

The perfect tools for compacting trenches and slopes.
The Caterpillar Vibratory Plate Compactor is used to compact soil, sand or gravel in trenching and sloping applications prior to pouring concrete or laying asphalt. Versatility increases when the compactor is used for other tasks, such as driving pilings, sheeting, fence posts or I-beams; and compacting waste. Advanced base plate design distributes vibration evenly for solid, stable compactions. Small footprint is ideal for trenches, narrow spots and inclines. Flexible mounting bracket allows compactor to operate at a 90-degree angle left or right. Optional bolt-on backfill blade enables compactor to easily push loose material into place.

General purpose bucket is the allaround choice for loading, carrying, dumping and performing general cleanup work. - formed back wrapper with optimum angle for enhanced loadability and superior bucket fill - rounded corners help reduce material packing - pre-drilled front cutting edge easily accommodates bolt-on edge or teeth - hardened steel base and side cutting edges provide excellent penetration, durability and wear life Multi purpose bucket offers excellent versatility for rehandling, dozing, grading, leveling and dumping, as well as grasping irregularly shaped objects. - serrated clam side edge grips all types of material - clam jaw opens wide, allowing the bucket to be used as a dozing blade - bolt-on cutting edge on the front clam edge allows quick-change flexibility - hardened steel base and side cutting edges provide excellent penetration, durability and wear life - cylinder pins are retained with a cross bolt that mounts through the inner boss of both the clam and dozer assemblies - grease points are conveniently located and protected

Multi purpose bucket with foldover forks is similar to the multi purpose bucket but the fold-over forks increase its ability to grasp irregularly shaped objects. - bucket/fork combination offers quick fork action while providing constant bucket capability - fold-over forks are attached to a bracket mounted behind the bucket Side-dump bucket is designed for loading, carrying, leveling, backfilling and dumping in a variety of applications and materials. Capable of dumping forward or to the left side, this bucket offers the versatility required in tight work areas and congested environments. - hardened steel base and side cutting edges provide excellent penetration, durability and wear life - bucket frame is line-bored to ensure rigid mounting - hinge and cylinder pins are plated to protect against corrosion

Light material bucket has the largest capacity. Cat Pallet Forks

Handle brick, block, bulky materials and palletized loads.
Caterpillar Pallet Forks handle a wide variety of material handling jobs. One pallet fork carriage is offered with three fork length options. Carriage is designed to International Trucking Association standards. Forks are easily repositioned and locked into place. Off-center cutout allows quick, easy change of forks. Class III rated.

Cat Material Handling Arm

Lifts and carries a variety of loads.
The Caterpillar Material Handling Arm is a useful work tool for picking up, carrying and loading a variety of materials and equipment such as loading, carrying and setting trees and large shrubs. The heavy duty design is ideal for virtually all types of applications, including industrial, construction and agricultural, landscaping, road construction and pipelaying. Rectangular tubing design provides extra rigidity and strength. Single, multi-angled boom offers excellent view of the load. Dual tie-down holes to properly secure the load. Heavy duty locking clasp swivels full 360 degrees. Two storage compartments for chains and hooks. Not included are chains, wire rope rigging or nylon lifting straps, which must be purchased separately. Extendable from face of coupler to three lengths 2006, 2972 and 3937 mm (79, 117 and 155 in).

Cat Angle Blade

Designed for maximum versatility, high productivity and long life.
Caterpillar Angle Blades are useful work tools in a wide range of applications for moving dirt, gravel, livestock waste and snow. They are also useful for finish grade work in construction, landscaping and road building. Caterpillar offers three sizes of angle blades with both manual and hydraulic actuation. Curved moldboard with standard reversible/replaceable bolt-on, hardened DH-2 steel cutting edge delivers long life and high performance. Two-way blade can be angled hydraulically 25 degrees right or left of center. Hydraulic lines quickly attach to the backhoe loaders auxiliary hydraulic system with flat face quick couplers.

Collect or windrow dirt and debris from a variety of surfaces.
Caterpillar Pickup and Angle Brooms are designed for cleanup work on many types of surfaces in many different applications. Pickup brooms sweep material into an integrated hopper for easy removal and dumping. Angle brooms use a windrowing action to move debris ahead and to the side for later collection. Pickup brooms feature: - direct drive by dual in-line motors that require no support bearings - maintenance free broom bearings - standard water sprinkler kit Angle brooms feature: - unique suspension system that eliminates the need for support wheels - 30-degree angling, left and right - supports for stable, secure parking Optional brushes steel wire, polypropylene or a combination are available for various surface requirements

Designed for land clearing in loose soil conditions.
The Caterpillar Loader Rake is a durable, high capacity tool designed for land clearing applications in sandy or loose soil. It is also useful for piling brush, stacking and carrying debris and loading trucks. Built tough with thick, fabricated teeth, heavy duty push bar and serrated tree pusher. High brush rack helps retain the load, preventing back spillage and increasing carrying capacity.

Cat Asphalt Cutter

Makes smooth, clean cuts.
Caterpillar Asphalt Cutter is an efficient tool for making clean, smooth cuts in a variety of asphalt paving applications, such as underground utility installation and maintenance work requiring asphalt removal. Heavy duty cutting edge is heattreated, high-strength steel for maximum durability and sharpness. Frame design has a three-point stand-up arrangement which allows easy attachment to the machine and self-storing when not in use. Cutting depth up to 127 mm (5 inches).

Cat Bale Spear

Handles round bales with ease.
The Caterpillar Bale Spear is designed to load, carry and handle round bales of cotton, straw, hay and similar materials. It is ideal for use in agricultural and landscaping applications. Heavy duty tines of cold-rolled steel provide excellent durability and sharpness. Two stinger diameters are available.

Cat Snow Plow

Remove snow from parking lots, roadways and confined spaces.
Caterpillar Hydraulic Reversible Snow Removal Trip Plows are designed for smaller snow removal jobs. Their compact size makes them ideal for removing snow from parking lots, narrow roadways and in confined spaces. Caterpillar offers snow plows in three cutting widths. Adjustable blade pitch regulates discharge six degrees forward or reverse. Horizontal oscillation allows blade to pivot and follow the lateral road crown up to 10 degrees left and right. Spring-loaded trip plow trips up to 45 degrees for clearing manholes, curbs and other obstacles. Rounded curb protectors provide guarding on each side of the blade. Grader style edges with single-side bolt-on design extend long wear life.
