Lesson 1
Can children ask relevant geographical questions? Can children use the map to locate areas?
Use the atlases to locate India. Where is India in relation to Mexico? Compare the size of the countries. Complete the map worksheets showing Mexico and India (Chembakolli located by an arrow). The children are to list 5 things they would like to find out over the topic in their books. H/wk To find a flag of India and copy it into their books. Ask the children how they would get to India. Children to use atlases and the web to plan a route to India. Children use the 2 websites listed to plan a trip with stops at a minimum of five countries before they reach India. Children use the atlas to identify a country, the world airport guide to find the airport in the country, then the indo site to calculate the mileage between each city. children to calculate the mileage needed for the whole trip and to write up their route in
Lesson 2
To know how places relate to each other. To use and interpret atlases and maps. ICT lesson.
Lesson 4
To compare two localities. To study climate and temperature of different countries and discuss how this may affect the people who live there.
Look at the data about the temperature and rainfall of both Gudalur/Mysore (nearest town and city to Chembakolli) and Mexico City. Plot line graph to show difference in rainfall. Plot bar chart to show difference in temperature. Make comparisons between the two graphs. LA - Graphs already plotted.
Discuss how this may affect industry, trade and farming in both areas.

To look at differences between educational facilities in Chembakkolli and Edron. To use secondary sources of information.
