This first volume of ‘* Shivastooti” is a versified
Pertinent to Shiva text containing Shiva terminology by
the renowned seer of Shiva philosophy, Shree Tika Kak
Gangoo and his worthy disciple Shree Bona Kak Ji, The
manuscript was donated by Brahmachari Rug Nath Ji and
the text rendered apprehensive by prof. Balji Nath a
Sanskrit Scholar of Simla University and published by
Chakreshwar Sanastha and printed at Aparna Press, Shi-
vala Mandir Chota Bazar.
The place of self analysis is alded by the ‘‘Upasna”
in “Trika Shastra” and thought. Its usefulness in the
practice of spirituality has been amply propounded in
this book, leaving aside ritualistics which would appear
recondite to the modern readers, This school of thought
does not believe in retreat. It believes in withdrawal
only if followed by activities. In solitude foliowed by
society, in self centred development only if ‘‘Loksangrah”
is its later compliment. It emphasises on spirituality if
nicely balanced by materiality. This school of thought
is quite conversant with the present day trends of ma-
terialism and scientific developments.
Unfortunately this Shastra of valuable inheritance
had been put to oblivion by us, This volume apart
from whatever literary merit it may possess portrays the
non « dualist Shiva philosophy of Kashmir in a compre-
i hensive form. Nevertheless the student in its pathN.°B.
become dismayed, bewlldered and lost. Yet if he courage-
ously pushes on he will be’ rewarded by the discovery of
blossoms of rare beauty and fragrance, This present vo-
lime — contains blossoms. Verily “it lifts the aspirant to
magnanimity. Lastly the Sanstha express its gratitude to
Shree Rug ‘Nath: Ji Brahmchari who moved the~Sanstha
for publishing this book, The Sanstha would be amply
rewarded if this brochure find place in each and every
Hindu home thus encouraging the Sanstha to bring into
lime light through publication of rare emanuscripts the
said school of thought treasured by the Sanstha.
