Civica wins place on Local Government Software Application framework

Public sector specialist awarded framework agreement by Government Procurement Service

London, July, 2011 - Civica, a market leader in specialist systems and business process services that help organisations achieve a more cost-efficient way of working, has been awarded a Local Government Software Applications framework agreement by the Government Procurement Service (formally Buying Solutions), the delivery arm for Government Procurement. The framework agreement is for two years with the option to extend for a further consecutive two years. The agreement recognises Civica as an approved supplier for seven lots in local government software requirements: Revenues, Benefits and Finance Social Care Libraries, Museums and Leisure Social Housing Waste and Environmental Health Highways and Transport Planning

The main benefits of the Government Procurement Service framework for public organisations include a fast, efficient, EU-compliant route to market as well as pre-agreed terms and conditions. User organisations will also gain expert guidance on using the framework as well as benchmarking to ensure continued value for money, supplier management and audit. The extent of lots awarded to Civica demonstrates the breadth of services that the company can deliver to local public bodies, its ability to help customers to streamline their services, and to achieve a more successful and cost-efficient way of working. Technology is playing an increasingly important role in the delivery of local government services, as highlighted by organisations ranging from Socitm, the membership association for ICT professionals working in local government, to the CBI in its recent System Reset report. The new Local Government Software Applications Solutions framework will allow local authorities to quickly and easily access software-based solutions to help improve service delivery and achieve savings. Civicas systems enable organisations to integrate modern front line, mobile and collaborative working with efficient back office operations. They already underpin local service transactions for 25 million citizens and businesses.
