AGM: - A reminder that the club AGM will be held in the crche on Wednesday 26th September at 6.30pm. We hope as many people as possible will attend. East Lothian Swim Team: - Last week I reported on paralympic success for James Clegg and Scottish Silver Squad place for Joanna Whitelaw. Below I have included a full report on the East Lothian Swim Team from their head coach Matt Trodden. Hi all, Hopefully you are all aware now, but if not, I am just writing to all the main supporters of ELST to inform you of James Success at the Paralympics where he scooped the bronze medal on Sunday in the S12 100m Fly. It really was a fantastic day with an electric atmosphere in the morning breaking his British record by 1.5s and the minute for the first time. In the final it was a lot more

edgy with nerves to control but he did what you do in a final and raced, to a fantastic bronze medal.

Many thanks to you all for the continued support to ELST and James as without this, international success is not possible and hopefully this is the first of many to come. He has not finished yet on Wednesday he smashed his British record by 2 full seconds almost in the 100 free to come 8th and later on today competes in the 50 freestyle. Although there are still many great medal hopes today with Jim the swim Anderson and Andrew Mullen going in there main events. I think it is important to acknowledge we are the only Scottish program so far to have achieved a medal so far in London 2012 (although hopefully that will change today GO ANDY, GO JIM!). This really is a testament to exactly what we as a collective swimming community are doing in East Lothian and hope that this is the start of a good few years for swimming in the county. In terms of the rest of the group we have just had the Scottish national programs released and we have 2 athletes on full institute support with a further three on east institute support. We have 3 athletes on the Scottish youth development program, 6 athletes on the senior bronze squad and 15 athletes on the district regional squad. This means that over 50% of the squad are involved in the national governing bodies programs in either a developmental or performance capacity which again I believe is another thing for us to all be extremely proud of. All in all hopefully its going to be another successful year for East Lothian and I thank you once again for your ongoing support.
