Gamsat notes:

Test date: 23/3/13. Dublin/Cork/Limerick Registration on ACER website by 1/2/13 ( 300 euro) CAO application (online at CAO.ie) by 1/2/13 ( 40 euro) Four universities: Cork/Limerick/UCD/RCSI Loans offered by the four main banks for 25k each year.

3 sections. 1. Reasoning in humanities and social sciences. a. 90mins plus ten minutes reading time. b. 75Q-roughly 80s per question. c. Multiple choice. d. Poetry/literature/plays/ethics/cartoons/philosophy/diagrams ranging from restaurant schematics, business plans, tribe culture etc. All about understanding, applying and extrapolating information 2. Written communication. a. One hour for two essay questions plus 5 minute reading time. b. One essay is argumentative in nature based usually on political/social/philosophical themes. I.e. 2012 was on Government and Nanny states c. The other is more personal, based around your own experiences and perspectives. This year was based on perceptions of Love d. Youll get a list of 5/6 quotes to base your essays upon, you dont have to use all of them though. 3. Reasoning in the biological and social sciences. a. 3 hours long with ten minutes reading time. 110Q- roughly 90s per question (this will be after an hour long break) b. Multiple choice. Its broken into 40% biology, 40% chemistry and 20% physics. c. No calculator anymore. Cause it just wasnt hard enough without it apparentlyHmm d. Timing for this and the other sections are really critical. I ended up having to fill in a lot of blanks on my sheet at the last minute, so so bad..
