We use at with particular times. I get up at 7:00 oclock. He goes to bed at night. / at midnight. We eat meat at the lunchtime / They eat eggs at the breakfast time.

A word that shows the relationship between a noun or pronoun and other words in a sentence. The combination of a preposition and a noun phrase is called a prepositional phrase. A word group (such as in front of or on top of) that functions like a simple, one-word preposition is called a complex preposition.

We use at for some celebrations. - We usually eat turkey at chrismas - Children eat chocolate at easter. We also use at with some specific phrases. - Im doing my homework at the moment. - Were singing at the same time. - We have finished our job at the end of the day. - They will have a party at the weekend. - World's oldest man dies at the age of 138

We use in for longer periods of time. I was born in 1908 (Years) Most of the students start school in march. (Months) Americans celebrate Christmas in winter (Seasons) We use in when we talk about parts of the day. He did his homework in the morning (In the evening, in the afternoon) We also can use in when were talking about a time in the future and how long it takes to do something. I will be there in a minute (In two hours, in four years, etc) She wrote the letter in 10 minutes.

We use on with particular days and dates. - I dont go to university on Monday. - People give presents each other on Christmas day. - They were in the hospital on Saturday morning. - Charles birthday is on 24th march.

We use during to talk about something that happens within a particular period of time, to say when something takes place. - I didnt speak during the class. - She went to Mulchen during her holiday.

We use for to say how long something continues. - We were wating for you for 10 years. - I lived in Pakistan for 2 years.

We use since + a period of time - Ive been living here since 1998 - I know him since we were children.

We use until to say that something will continue up to a particular time. - We have to stay here until the class finish. - We didn't eat till past midnight

We use from - to + beginning and end of a period: - I go to university from Monday to Friday. - Romina doesnt have to watch tv from 8 to 9 oclock.

We use Over or in to talk about something that has been happening continuously up until the present, or will happen continuously in the future. - We saw him several times over the weekend - Thousands of tourists will be coming over the holidays

We use Throughout when we want to indicate a complete lapse of time.
