The Kirk marketing design team has had ten years experience in the fooring trim industry and using this valuable training
and tremendous product knowledge, has developed the superior and acutely functional MTrim collection.
The MTrim range of trims used for carpet, vinyl , wood and laminate fooring has been particularly developed for South
African requirements. Every MTrim product has been carefully and professionally designed and manufactured to international
standards.
The MTrim range incorporates the most popular trims used in the fooring, DIY and construction industries. Our experience
includes interaction with architects, designers, contractors, ftters, developers, engineers, quantity surveyors and interior
designers. The majority of the MTrim range is available in CAD Drawings for specifcations.
Our range is divided into four sections in the product catalogue; PVC, Aluminium, Brass and Structural Movement Joint
Covers. This easy to use catalogue includes product codes, pictures of installed products and general information on

The MTrim PVC Retro-Fit Stair Nosing is an economical retro-ft PVC stair nosing used
on vinyl, wood and screed stairs.
Applied using a PVC contact adhesive or silicone adhesive. Available in a few selected
colours: buff, brown, black and dark grey. Other colours from the MTrim colour chart
can be ordered for a minimum quantity of 500 metres.

PVC VINYL SKIRTING PVC VINYL SKIRTING
MTrim PVC fexible skirting is available in 3m, 15m and 50m lengths. Available in a
few selected colours: beige and light grey. The skirting is used against the wall and is
designed to accept vinyls from 2mm thick upwards. The PVC vinyl skirting is glued to the
wall using contact adhesive , PVC glue or silicone adhesive, ready to accept the vinyl.
Used in hospitals, canteens, shopping centres and wherever the vinyl goes up the wall.

PVC CARPET SKIRTING + CORNER PIECES PVC CARPET SKIRTING + CORNER PIECES
MTrim PVC Carpet Skirting is available in 3m lengths with a self adhesive strip for the
carpet to stick to. Available in a few selected colours: white, buff, brown, black, dove
grey and tan. The skirting comes with both internal and external corners as well as
an end piece. The MTrim PVC skirting is used in hotels, offces, department stores,
rooms, and is used with stickdown carpeting. A minimum of 500 lengths can be ordered
in our other standard colours and matching corners and end pieces will be made.
MTrim PVC Carpet skirting is an economical solution to wall to wall carpeting used in
the domestic and commercial environment.

ANODISED COLOUR CHART
Powder coat finishes are available on request for most of the aluminium trims.
Anodised colours are all anodised from 10 to 15 micron thick on aluminium. Anodised surfaces are sensitive to alkaline building materials, such as tile grout.
If grout is allowed to come into contact with an anodised surface for an extended period of time the coating will become irrepairably damaged. Either remove grout
immediately with sponge and water or protect anodised surface before ftting using masking tape.

ALUMINIUM ELITE FORMABLE STRAIGHT EDGE TRIM (5mm Wide) ALUMINIUM ELITE FORMABLE STRAIGHT EDGE TRIM (5mm Wide)
MTrim Elite Aluminium Formable Straight Edge Trim is the same as the Aluminium
Straight Edge except it has a 5mm wide top section on the trim, showing a larger
aluminium edge. MTrim Elite Aluminium Formable Straight Edge Trim can be shaped
into curves by using hand pressure. Once the desired form has been achieved the trim
is fxed using concrete nails or screws. It is used against carpets, laminate, and screed
foors. It can be used against stickdown carpet and can be used as an edge against
stretch carpet as long as grippers are used in conjunction with it. Anodised colours are
not advised for formable trims, however, on request we are able to anodise required
lengths.

ACS300 30mm Aluminium Capping Strip
MTrim Aluminium Capping Strip with a 30mm wide cover can be used as a dividing strip
between wood and laminate foors, protecting the edges of the different foor surfaces
as well as acting as a movement joint cover allowing for the movement in laminate and
wood foors. The extra width of the capping strip allows for larger movement sometimes
experienced in the wood and laminate fooring.
The Aluminium Capping Strip should preferably be ftted into the aluminium cover base.
However can be ftted as a retroft for refurbishments with the appropriate fexible
adhesive. Available in all the anodised colours as indicated on the colour chart. The
alumimium capping strip is also formable, creating curves with the Z-Flex Curver 1,
allowing designers freedom to design curves in foor layouts.

The MTrim Aluminium T-Floor can be used as a capping strip or as a dividing strip
between different laminate and wooden foors, protecting the different foor surfaces

D1ACB140, an aluminium base. Also available in brass.
The MTrim Aluminium T-Floor can be formed into curves using a Z-fex curver 1. This is
great for foor designers giving them more freedom in design. The Aluminium T-Floor can

The aluminium Retro-ft Stair Nosing with carborundum insert is used on existing

This MTrim Stair Nosing is slip resistant and highly visible, reducing the possibilities
of accidents. Depending on the stair material (e.g.carpet, wood, vinyl, screed) various
recommended adhesives are used to affx the stair nosing and/or it can be screw fxed.
This stair nosing with a 19mm wide carborundum strip offers an even more effective slip

NON-SLIP COLOUR CHART
The Non-Slip inserts are patented non-slip inserts constructed with fne Silicone Carbide and Space Age Resins onto a hardy fexible
substrate. The Non-Slip strips substrate is ABS, a plastic with high impact resistance, suitable for heavy duty applications.
Available in 4 colours : Brown, Black, Beige and Grey. Expected lifespan is more than 3 years. The inserts are easy to replace and
are all weather inserts. The inserts have excellent slip resistant qualities in adverse conditions Oil, grease, Dust, Liquids, Powder
and Fat. The non-slip inserts are inserted into the different types of Stairnosing and glued with a recommended adhesive (Den Braven
Tectane 2030).

The Luminescense strip is embedded in Non-slip inserts epoxies and is slightly lower than the non-slip silicone carbide ensuring it
is protected from wear and tear. The Luminscense strip lasts for 12 hours maximum , which is more than the 5 hours required by
SABS. Ideal for badly lit or dark stair wells. Can be used in Cinemas, Theatres and poorly lit public areas. Luminescence strips need
to be stimulated by a light source to get its luminescence.
The Luminescence Strips are photo luminescent vinyl (NAV720) made by alkaline-earth aluminate and silicate which are activated
by rare earth elements. Its features include high luminance, long lasting luminance and weather-proof. The Luminescence strip is
non-toxic, non-radioactive and has stable chemical properties.

Under a light source of 1000LX for 15minutes, you get 12hours of Luminescence from the NAV720 luminescent vinyl. The SABS
norm required is 5 hours.

A degree of normal 25LX brightness can be a source of stimulating light. Inside a building, the normal light can reach 500-600LX.
Therefore, sunshine as well as normal light can be used as sources of stimulating light.

The M.Trim Stainless Steel Transition Ramp Cover is ftted between two surfaces of
the different levels. It is used to cover up the gaps created between the tile levels and
different fooring levels. The Stainless Steel cover is screw fxed with plugs , stainless
steel screws are recommended. Grade 304 is recommended, however brushed
Grade 430 is available on request. In highly corrosive environments Grade 316 is
recommended. Available in different thicknesses for custom designed transitions.

The strips of butyl tape are adhered to the cover and foor surface ensuring reduction
in sound on traffc over the cover as well as an effective seal and adhesion of the cover
to the fooring material. When using Butyl tape, ensure the aluminium cover and the
foor surface are thoroughly cleaned before applying it. Available in 3m lengths and
15m lengths.
The SClip is a clip manufactured from Spring Steel and is used in joints from 15mm
to 35mm in width. The Spring Steel is treated against corrosion by passivation of the
spring steel. Use 5 SClips for every 3m length of cover on foors and 4 SClips for every
3m length of cover on walls.

Fully Integrated patented non-slip stair tread for factory and industrial applications.
Constructed with Silicone Carbide and Space age Epoxies and Resins on various metal
backings including galvanised steel, 3CR12 Steel plate and/or Grade 304 Stainless
Steel Plate.

The Non-Slip Silicone Carbide material is available in fne, medium and coarse grits
dependant on how much pedestrian traffc is used. We recommend fne grit for Light
Pedestrian Traffc, medium grit for medium pedestrian traffc and coarse grit for heavy
pedestrian traffc.
The Non-Slip tread is slip resistant in the most adverse conditions such as Oil, Grease,
Fat, Dust, Liquids and Powder.

The Non-Slip Stair Treads are custom designed with certain dimension limitations:
Length is a minimum 300mm to a maximum 1200mm. Longer length stair treads are
butt jointed. Width is a minimum 50mm to a maximum 250mm. Standard Stair Lip is
25mm with a refective strip on the stair. The refective strips on the tread are 40mm
off the edge.
The Non-Slip Stair Treads are long-lasting, durable, chemical resistant, non static and
impact resistant.

The Industrial Non-Slip Stair Treads can be ftted to Concrete, Steel and Checker plate
and Mentis Grating stairwells. There is different ftting methods per substrate. Please
request ftting method instructions when you encounter the different substrates. We will
forward instructions with the product supplied for the different substrates.

The Multifoor Transition Cover profle is a two piece profle system consisting of a cover
top and a nylon dowel. The Transition cover is used between different fooring types or
fooring of different heights. The Multifoor Transition is available in 30mm and 40mm
widths. The Multifoor Transition is normally ftted by drilling holes into the screed and
then knocking the cover with the nylon dowels into the holes. Use either a 6mm or
6.5mm concrete drill bit dependant on the strength of the screed.

The Nylon dowels are diameter of 6mm. However depandant on the quality of the screed
foor either a 6mm or 6.5mm concrete drill must be used. Otherwise the dowels will get
stuck in the hole and will not perform their function. Please clean the holes after they
have been drilled.

The Clipper system 1000/1600 is a three piece profle system consisting of an aluminium top and a base and a PVC clipper. The
base can be screw fxed or cemented. Because of the shape and the lever action of the Clipper, it gives the system an extremely
strong connection. The removable tops make it possible to replace and re-use tops as is required. No screw fxing is required. The
clipper system automatically adjusts to the fooring by height inclination. The Tops are available in 8 wood fnishes. Anodised colours
are available on request.

The Bendi profles are PVC covers that are unique in that when they are heated using hot water or a heat gun are able to form into
curves of a minimum radius of between 40cm to 80cm dependant on the profle. The Bendi profles are made up of two parts the
rigid PVC base that is formed by bending the teeth cuts and nailing the base into position. The top which fts into the base is formed
by applying heat to the profle, which in turn is shaped into the shape required. Once the top bendi cover cools down it will keep
the shape it has been bent into. The cover can be reused and reshaped into a different shape if required. If the covers are correctly
ftted they can be used as a retroft without the base, however we do not advise this method, we always suggest you use the base
in conjunction with the cover. The Bendi profle covers have 5 plain colours and 5 foiled colours.

Anodised colours are all anodised to between 10 to 15 micron thick on aluminium. Anodised surfaces are sensitive to alkaline building materials, such as tile grout. If grout is allowed to come into
contact with an anodised surface for an extended period of time the coating will be irrepairably damaged. Either remove grout immediately with sponge and water or protect anodised surface
before ftting using masking tape.
