RUSCONI: THE SWISS TRIO BETWEEN JAZZ AND ROCK WHO CRASH LIKE A SUPERSONIC WITH ITS 5th ALBUM REVOLUTION! IF E.S.T. AND THE BAD PLUS HAD A BROTHER IT WOULD BE RUSCONI THE MUSICAL REVOLUTION ISNT OVER AND IT HAS THREE FACES

RUSCONI
RUSCONI was founded by Stefan Rusconi, Fabian Gisler and Claudio Strby. Together for 8 years, they played more than 250 gigs in Europe and Asia, and played in many famous festivals. In 2004 the band released the album Scenes & Sceneries (Brambus Records), followed in 2006 by Stop & Go (Unit Records), the band begin to be famous in press with the album One up down left right (Sony Music) released in 2008. The album Its a sonic life (Sony Music) released in 2010, covers 12 songs of Sonic Youth, which shows us the band influences. RUSCONIs eclectic tastes bring an original view of old school and current music. It allows to keep the tones and genre to which the band feels the closest. The three partners develop their own sound language, with their voices, techniques, and instruments; they create strong and hypnotic tone in an unconventional and surprising way RUSCONI doesnt restrict to music, the band produces its video clips and is really attached to photography and contemporary art. Its video clips have been rewarded many times: One Up Down Left Right and The Destroyed Room won the Jurys Price (Sound & Stories category) at the Journes de Soleure (Switzerland) in 2010 and 2011. The trio is really demanding of its albums covers like its website. They often collaborate with some famous artists like Pipilotti Rist, Diana Scheunemann or the production firm Zweihundfilm. RUSCONI wants to be a complete piece of work.

THE NEW ALBUM REVOLUTION

In June 2010, the band recorded Revolution. They booked for two weeks a big empty room at Ble (Switzerland) where were delivered a grand piano, Claudios drum, Fabians double bass, and the rest of their material. The recording has led to a many songs; the band could pick the songs they wanted to keep for the album in a casual atmosphere and without any time limits. The result is an album reflecting the trio current interests and creativity. Piano, drum, double bass, voices, whistles, distortions, feed-backs, space echo, instrumental preparations and the tape recorder create songs, a chao and improvised tunes which had been developed and consolidated by the last two years of concerts. The album includes a collaboration with the guitarist Fred Frith (Henry Cow, Art Bears, Skeleton Crew), who lives in the USA, and some direct cuts from previous live performance of the band.
