XEROX ASSET RECYCLE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME

(DESIGN - FOR - ENVIRONMENT STRATEGY)
Distributing Returned Equipment for reuse so long as it is in optimal working order. Restoring equipment, through remanufacturing, to its original state. Converting the equipment or Major Assemblies from the equipment into another product for example, using in a Printer the Electromechanical Elements of a Copier Dismantling Equipment to Salvage parts for Use Either on the new Product Assembly line or as spare parts for fields repairs. If parts are not salvageable, recycling their source material either at Xerox or externally through suppliers or recyclers. The latter may combine recycled source materials with virgin materials with virgin material Into a blend that is used in Xerox Parts. SAVING = $ 50 MILLION IN THE FIRST YEAR

STEPS IN THE INITIAL REVIEW:

1. Develop IER Procedure including following phases: A. Identification of Environmental Aspects and Associated Impacts
- Prepare site plans (sketches) - Prepare activity (process) flow diagrams - Review environmental data - Full reconnaissance of the site (seeing and hearing) - Interviews and feed back collection from staff and managers

- Conduct a simple mass balances, wherever appropriate

B. Evaluation of Environmental Impacts and Identification of significant Environmental Aspects

- Brainstorming and selection of evaluation model

C. Updating Register of Environmental Aspects 2. Implement above Procedure (Output- Register of Environmental Aspects)
