Minutes of the Committee meeting of the Devon and Cornwall Area held on Saturday 9th September 2012. 1.

3. Minutes of the previous meeting: The minutes of the meeting held on the 28th July 2012 were read and approved. Prop. Bro. Alex Battershill Sec. Bro. Marc Quigley-Ferriday 4. Matters Arising: None 5. Finance:

An updated financial statement was presented to the meeting and discussed. 6. Court visits and updates:

Court 3470 Secretary Margaret Williams The Accreditation review meeting took place on Thursday 26th July. The Court was not recommended for Accreditation. A Committee meeting would be held on Monday 1st October to consider the future of the Court. Court 4107 Secretary Ron Ross The Accreditation review meeting took place on Tuesday 7th August. The Court was not recommended for Accreditation. The Court would be celebrating its 150th in 2013. A request had been made to contact all the members to see if there was any chance that there could be a revival in Court membership, this meeting would be held on Tuesday 2nd October. Court 4938 Secretary Margaret Carn The Accreditation review meeting took place on Wednesday 8th August. The Court was recommended for Accreditation 7. Area Meeting:

Area Meeting:

The Agenda for the December meeting was discussed and the paragraphs allocated. Sis. Pat Hill, had secured the Copthorne Hotel. A buffet would be provided for 10 per head. The room would be available for the Committee meeting in the morning and for the meeting at no cost. Details of car parking would be circulated to all Courts. A letter was discussed prior to circulating to the Courts to encourage greater attendance at the meetings. 8. Socials Saturday 27th October, Bro. Hunn would be circulating the

Area Skittles - Court 3754 held a Skittles competition on the 18th August. The cost was 153, takings 85. Prop. Bro. Marc Quigley-Ferriday Sec. Sis. Margaret Williams that the Court be given a grant of 68 for the event. It was agreed that ideas for Social events would be requested from the Courts prior to the next meeting. 9. 10. Various items received since the last meeting were read and discussed.

The Area Co-ordinator advised that dates would need to be decided for the coming year. She also advised that once the dates were set for the Area Meetings, then these would take precedence over any invites as HCR. Date of the next meeting: Saturday 1st December at 10:30 a.m.
