Project Description
Integrated Competency Center (ICC) is Sonys solution for integrating all data in a single data hub. SIS was being used as the source to all external interfaces. It was decided to use SAP as the source system and Informatica to route the data to all of Sonys external applications. The aim of the project is to use Informatica to cleanse and convert data from SAP into the format required by the applications.

Operating in more than 70 countries, DuPont offers a wide range of innovative products and services for markets including agriculture, nutrition, electronics, communications, safety and protection, home and construction, transportation and apparel. DuPont is in the process of migrating legacy data to SAP. P&IP ETL team was responsible for data cleansing and separating the good and error records before loading the legacy data of the P&IP (Polymers and Industrial Packaging) business into SAP. This also involved extensive interaction with the client during the development and data loading process. This project, where ETL is used as an intermediate step before the SAP load, after successful implementation, is used as a template for other such data migrations in DuPont.

Contribution
Onsite Software Specialist As part of the P&IP onsite team, was responsible for loading the data for P&IPs Material Master into SAP. Required to monitor the load at every stage and communicate errors immediately to the client, and also to correct the errors for subsequent loads. Providing real time load status reports by querying from the database as per customer requirements. Required to write UNIX scripts to completely automate the whole Informatica process, including all workflows and lookup table refreshes (using RFC).

Involved in extensive knowledge transfer sessions to give the clientmanaged support team which was primarily non-technical, to take on and manage the entire data load process for the P&IP business. Also involved in KT sessions to other businesses of DuPont, which now follow the same template for data load (Informatica/LSMW/SAP R3) after the successful implementation of this methodology in P&IP.

 Creation of technical specification according to the template. Developing Informatica Mappings and Workflows. Testing the mappings with respect to the required LSMW format and requirements. Optimization of the existing Mappings to reduce the runtime. Converting legacy data to standard LSMW data. Analyzing all errors generated by Informatica and fixing those errors in data collection. Automating the workflows by use of UNIX scripts to reduce manual intervention and increase efficiency. As part of the offshore team, was the only ETL resource working on the project during the initial development, and had to work on inputs provided by the Onsite SAP functional coordinators. Initially required to work Onsite at Wilmington for 2 months for KT to the offshore team. As the offshore Informatica Team Lead, was responsible for all deliverables with respect to the SAP STC (Sales to Cash) objects, and loading the data for the same. Required to work with the SAP technical team for loading the flat files provided as output from Informatica into SAP. Also responsible for fixing the data errors after consultation with the SAP functional co-coordinators and the client.

Project Description
CET is a tool which is used to load data from the database into SAP using Informatica SAP R3 PowerConnect. This tool, which can be reused, has been designed to load data into various SAP objects like Material Master, Customer Master, Vendor Master, and the various Quality and Sales objects.

 Analyzing the business rules, and checking that all rules have been implemented in the Informatica Mappings. As tester, was responsible for unit testing all the mappings for all business rules for the Material and Customer Master, and preparing documents for the same. Was required to prepare test data files, with both positive and negative test scenarios, after extensive sessions with the functional consultants. Also responsible for integration testing the extremely complex rules of the Master objects, and extensively documenting the same for understanding. Was responsible for conveying erroneous rules in the mappings to the SAP functional coordinators.
