Antelope Valley Clean Cities Coalition and the www.CNGChat.com online natural gas vehicle (NGV) owners community have partnered to organize the Clean Across America & Back 2012 CNG Road Trip to raise national awareness about the availability and opportunity of alternative fuel vehicles and attention to the compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure across the country. The trip will be completed by the husband and wife team of Gary and Evelyn Corbitt in a 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas (NGV Model), being provided by American Honda. Both are members of CNGChat.com. The objective is to begin their trip in Santa Monica, CA and make their way to the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ using public access refueling points, both there and back. A Civic GX cross-country road trip was last done in 1998, as a promotion for the 1998 Honda Civic GX, however this will be a unique, grassroots event, which will garner the attention of the national press and drive public awareness of the benefits and advantages offered by owning and operating vehicles powered by clean, domestic fuels, such as compressed natural gas. This 7,200+ mile plus round trip will be tied into the national kick-off press event for National Alternative Fuels Odyssey Day 2012, in Indianapolis, IN. and along with many activities and press events across the country during the course of their journey. All activities and press events will be done in coordination with Clean Cities Coalitions in various cities throughout the country. To date, the road trip will involve: Over 7,200+ miles traveled 47 fueling stops 22 states 18 Clean Cities Coalitions 18 events And counting The Clean Across America & Back 2012 CNG Road Trip will be promoted through: National press releases Top online industry publications A dedicated webpage and blog Live weekly coverage on AV Clean Cities Radio Ongoing announcements, planning and member involvement on the www.CNGChat.com website, in the Road Trip Reports forum (12,000+ community members) Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites National press op at the national launch event for National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Odyssey Day 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana, where they will speak to the press and public. The road trip will be centered on a single 2012 dedicated CNG powered Honda Civic. Momentum has already started for this trip as we have been leveraging the 12,000 member strong online grass roots community at CNGChat.com in organizing regional caravans of natural gas vehicles along the way. The event will launch from the West Coast of CA on the Santa Monica Pier, in Santa Monica, at an Odyssey Day 2012 Press Event put on by Antelope Valley Clean Cities and the City of Santa Monica. Our driving team will arrive in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 18th in time to display their beautifully wrapped vehicle at the national launch event for National AFV Odyssey Day 2012 and conclude the eastward leg of the journey on the Board Walk in Atlantic City, NJ, at another Clean Cities organized press event, put on by the New Jersey Clean Cities Coalition. We invite you to participate in this landmark event by becoming a sponsor for Clean Across America & Back 2012. Being a sponsor goes beyond sponsoring a one-time event. It provides you national exposure through press events held in major cities across the country, product awareness and brand development from coast to coast and throughout the Clean Cities organization. There are various levels and benefits for sponsoring organizations, but sponsorships can be customized to meet your financial, marketing and outreach goals.
If you have questions about how you may become involved in the Clean Across America & Back 2012 CNG Road Trip, please contact me as soon as possible.

In-kind/Sponsorship Opportunities
Clean Cities organizations across the country are the partner of choice for organizations looking to build visibility for their alternative fuels and advanced transportation technologies projects. With over 8,000 stakeholders across the country, Clean Cities Coalitions are the go-to resource for funding, expertise, resources and information, as well as exposure for your AFV related technology, product, or service. There are numerous opportunities for in-kind gifts and sponsorships. Sponsorships allow your business to reach new audiences, increase your company's year-round marketing presence, and help meet your company's community mission by becoming a Clean Cities sponsor. In-kind donations of time and resources are always appreciated, and sometimes are the easiest ways for businesses to show their support. Your partnership, through in-kind contributions or sponsorships, helps Clean Cities Coalitions in your area focus resources to advance the use and adoption of alternative fuels and displace petroleum. I hope you choose to help promote natural gas as a transportation fuel by supporting this effort. The event is named in homage to Mark Loppers 1998 Clean Across America & Back, which was accomplished in a 1993 CNG powered Dodge van, one of the very first OEM offerings to become available to the market at that time. This 1998 trip can be found here: http://www.altfuels.org/cleannbk.html For more information on becoming an in-kind or sponsorship partner contact Curtis Martin at Antelope Valley Clean Cities Coalition / 661-492-5916.
