Goal or passion? I believe we, ourselves encounter this question every time we see things differently. Sometimes we are confused about what to accomplish first; Things that we need for the future or things that our hearts tell us to do. Let us watch a movie about a person who handled and solved his problems calmly. And find what did he prioritize, his goal or his passion? A guy named Anselmo Adriano came from a wealthy family. But his familys richness did not materialize. Instead, he made his own gold. Sir Anselmo finished Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the University of the East and passed the licensure examination for certified public accountants in 1966. After his return from a JICA sponsored scholarship in Tokyo, he had to keep himself away from law school. Diagnosed as having dealt with myocardial infarction or mild heart attack in his mid 30s, Sir Anselmo lessened his pace. The dreamer in him to soar high fuelled his hope alive and the pragmatism kept his feet on the ground. But this obstacle is not a hindrance for him to pursue his passion, farming. After his 47 years of serving the government, he had to hang up his gloves and call it a day. He realized that awards alone cannot feed the emptiness he still has away from his true trophy. He had this advocacy of helping farmers reach their goals. Sustaining their needs and giving hopes which will yield them a decent living, enabling them to send their children to school. This advocacy led to the idea of cooperativism. In 2006, the Bulacan Dairy Multi Purpose Cooperative (BDMPC) came into being; located at the San Gregorio Farms and Leisure, a 16 hectare site at Balasing, Sta. Maria, Bulacan where Farmers were organized and recruited as members, not only to provide them with a ready market for their milks at reasonable prices, but also an assurance of payment. The Coop operates the dairy and does the milk processing from carabaos and cows. Pasteurized milk, yogurt and pastillas are the products produced. These products were named as MILK Q. The story behind its name was never mentioned. The farmer members now enjoy a minimum of P 500.00 daily income. BDMPC is a member of good standing of the Dairy Confederation of the Philippines, an organization of primary dairy cooperatives in country whose seven point agenda aimed at raising the standards of the dairy industry. And until now, sir Anselmos advocacy and business as well, is managed by his loving, supportive, and young wife, Prof. Adelpha Adriano. And that was how, when, and where, Bulacan Dairy Multi Purpose Cooperative (BDMPC) served its purpose. What do you think did Pres. Anselmo G. Adriano prioritize? (Goal then passion) What do you think is the title of the movie? (Milk Q)
