Note: Due to our policy to upgrade our products constantly, we reserve the right to supply products which may vary slightly from that indicated above

2.0 CONNECTION ARRANGEMENT :

Interconnection between HV transformer and control unit through fail safe 3 pin industrial type plug / socket arrangement.

For DC, self screwing type self standing HV rectifier unit shall be screwed over HV bushing terminal. All interconnections are fail safe arrangement.

3.0 CONNECTION PRECAUTIONS :

Warning: Make sure that there is no voltage in the circuit or component under test.

Connect the HV terminal and test terminal of the component under test through thin straight wire. Ensure the test wire does not oscillate in air or touches any object. Connect earth wire (Green wire) from control unit to other terminals of the test object and earth. For measuring leakage current, connect milliammeter or multimeter in series to read the leakage current directly. Connect safety earthing points to earth.

4.0 OPERATING PROCEDURE :

Warning: Always set the power switch to off position before and after use.

Ensure Test connections as indicated above. Keep variac in zero position. To ensure safety during starting, zero start interlocking is provided, which prevents HV On other than zero position. Plug-in input supply plug to 230V, 1phase, supply source. Switch on input supply. Switch on supply on MCB in the control unit. Supply on indication will glow.

Note: Due to our policy to upgrade our products constantly, we reserve the right to supply products which may vary slightly from that indicated above

Trip circuit healthy check: Short HV terminal and earth. Press start PB. HV On indication will glow. Slightly move variac from zero position. The kit will trip immediately as soon as fault current exceeds the trip setting (25 or 50mA).Dont circulate the current beyond capacity or duty cycle of the kit as this may damage the kit ( kit is designed for short time rating for portability)

Now the test kit is ready for testing. Remove shorting and ensure correct connection of the test component. Bring back the variac to zero position and ensure zero start interlocking.

Ensure human and equipment safety before starting HV test. Select trip setting. Press starts PB. HV On indication will glow . Slowly raise voltage by rotating the variac. Observe the test voltage in the meter. Stop rotating the variac when test voltage reached to the required value. See the voltage is steady.

Fluctuation of input supply will cause unsteady reading. Be sure the input supply does not fluctuate. Keep the test voltage for a duration of 1 min. or as per required test duration and observe the leakage current in the milli ammeter. If the test component is healthy, it will withstand the applied test voltage for the duration of testing and the leakage current will be less than trip setting. If the test is successful, reduce the voltage to zero and press stop / reset PB. Now the HV supply will be switched off. Switch off MCB. Note: Due to our policy to upgrade our products constantly, we reserve the right to supply products which may vary slightly from that indicated above 4

Discharging Test Component: Discharge the energy stored in the test component to earth using discharge rod. Do not touch the test component without properly discharging.

Test Fail : Incase the test is unsuccessful within the duration of test, the kit will trip and Test Fail indication will glow. Do not apply High voltage again and again on failed component. This will cause damage to the component.

Note: Due to our policy to upgrade our products constantly, we reserve the right to supply products which may vary slightly from that indicated above
