At that time, private and state sponsored storage and irrigation ventures were pursed but often failed because of lack of money and lack of engineering skills. In July of 1902, in accordance with the reclamation act, secretary of the interior Ethen Allen Hitchcock established the United States reclamation service with U.S geological survey (USGSU). The new reclamation service studied potential water development project in each western state with federal lands- revenue from sales of federal lands was the initial source of program funding. Aqua Tech Cold box is designed and developed at Industrial Design centre of Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai with Technical input from Heat Transfer and Industrial design disciplines. The inside temperature maintained is -18oc with minimal rise in temperature of 0.7oc. In order to double layer and prevent heat loss, this box and lids are insulated by using poly urethane fiber. Boxes are provided ergonomic handles for convenience in handling and stacking. Usually these boxes are used to transport frozen food or ice. In such cases space inside the transport is maximum utilized when these type of handles are fitted to the boxes. That is to be creating Horizontal water tanks. The firm has in the last stage of these works within months the horizontal water tanks will available in market. The color of these tanks is cream. And the shape is horizontal.Another plan is to be starting a production unit in Quather. And most probably it will be starting in this year. The firm has also 3 production units in India. These are the future plans.

Finance is the life blood of any company. Finance plays a critical role in every business. No business can sustain continue its operation without adequate finance. Finance section of the company is responsible for the recording and monitory transaction. This section is headed by the finance director and assisted by finance manager and cashier etc. the finance director who comes directly under the managing director and he is assisted by the subordinates. Management of finance is broadly concerned with the acquisition and use of funds by a business firm. The finance department handles preparation of different accounts, taxation, insurance, sundry debtors management, management of loan etc. Financial analysis is the starting point for making plans, before using any sophisticated forecasting and planning procedures. It is the process of identifying the financial strength and weakness of the firm by properly establishing relationship between the items of the balance sheet and profit & loss account. Depending upon the nature of activity to be financed, the business requires short term, medium and long term funds. Making funds available at the right place in the right quantity would result in the smooth functioning of the organization. The term finance function deals with procurement of funds, use of funds and distribution of funds as profit. Investment decision: A firms investment decision involves capital expenditures. They referred as capital budgeting decisions. A capital budgeting decision involves the allocation of capital commitment of funds to long term assets that would yield benefits (cash inflow) in the future. Financing decision: financing decision is the second important function which a financial manager performs. He or she must decide when, where from and how to acquire funds to meet the firms investment needs. The financial manager must strive to obtain the best financing mix or the optimum capital structure for his firm. The mix of debt and equity is known as the firms capital structure.

Dividend Decision: A financial manager must decide whether firm should distribute all its profits or retain them, or distribute a portion and retain the balance. The proportion of profits distributed as dividends is called the dividend payout ratio and the retained portion of profits is known as the retention ratio. Liquidity decision: Investment in current assets affects the firms profitability and liquidity. Current assets should be managed efficiently for safeguarding the firm against the risk of illiquidity. Lack of liquidity in extreme situations can lead to the firms insolvency. A financial manager should develop sound techniques of managing current assets. If a firm does not invest sufficient funds in current assets, it may become illiquidity and risky. In a broad sense, it is concerned with planning and controlling firms financial resources. Financial statement analysis The analysis of financial statement is the process of evaluating the relationship between component parts of the financial statements to obtain a better understanding of the firms performance and position. Financial statements are annual documents prepared by organizations for periodical review on the progress by the management and deal with the status of investment in the organization and results achieved during the period of under review. Financial statements are the financial periods of work done during the accounting period say a year. Financial statement are prepared for the purpose of presenting a periodical review or report by the management and deal with the state of investment in business. They reflect a combination of recorded facts, accounting conventions and personal judgments. Only those facts which are recorded in the business books are reflected in the financial statements. Production department is one of the important departments for every organization. The functions of the production department start with the purchase of raw materials and end with production of finished goods. Production means creation of utilities and covers all the activities of procurement, allocation and utilization of resources such as labour, energy, equipment, machinery etc. Utilities are goods and services which have want satisfying powers. Marketing research enables the enterprise to determine the nature and character of utilities, i.e. goods serves required by customers. Production management is the process which combines and transform various resources used in the production operation subsystem of the organization into value added products or services in a controlled manner as per the policies of organization. The set of inter related management activities which are involved in manufacturing products are called as production management. If the concept is extended to service management activities is called operation management. 3.2.3 PRODUCTION PROCESS

The plants at Aqua Tech follow the procedure explained below to mould extra tough tanks, cold boxes, loft tanks, customized moulds and public utility articles. Aqua Tech water tanks are manufactured with stringent follow up of the standards of IS 12701 of bureau of Indian Standards. Aqua Tech uses rotomoulding to custom mould products for various end uses Small and big, Aqua Tech makes them to the specified standards. These include defense drop boxes, diesel tanks for engines, components for various engineering and household products etc. The finish and durability of the products are guaranteed with the superior quality standards pursued at the manufacturing units. Raw materials Only virgin raw material is used to manufacture Aqua Tech Tanks. Linear Low Density Polyethylene is used in the manufacture of Water Tanks. Aqua Tech avails a test certificate of the material on each batch of purchase from the raw material suppliers to ensure we are using food grade LLDP (Linear low-density polyethylene). LLDP is a substantially linear polymer (polyethylene), with significant numbers of short branches, commonly made by copolymerization of ethylene with chain olefins. The Extra Tough storage tanks are manufactured using virgin polyethylene from renowned primary manufacturers like Indian Petrochemical Corp. Ltd / Reliance Industries Ltd / Gas Authority of India Ltd etc. Extrusion Linear Low Density Polyethylene is mixed with Master Batch in the specified proportion

Master Batch White
The extruder is set at temperature of 2000C. Plastic material and master batch are mixed in the specified proportion. Extruded with added carbon black ensures proper dispersion of carbon black throughout the material. As per IS 12701 the carbon content must be 2 to 3 % which is ideal to stop penetration of UV rays in the sunlight through the tank. The Master batch is made in to continuous ribbons which are cooled in running water and made into pellets which then go on to be pulverized or powdered. Pulverization The 0.5 cm long pellets are put into the pulverisor and powdered to the requisite micron specifications. The mill is set at controlled speed and temperature of 700C and monitored every 30 mins. A process sieve helps collect the powder. The black powder is used to make the outer layer and the white is used to make the inner layer. Feed to Mould The stainless steel mould is fed with the pulverized powder according to the size of the mould and covered with lid. Moulds of various capacity tanks are made providing enough flat space on the top side of the tank in order to allow a person to stand on it, for cleaning & other maintenance work, which is mentioned in IS 12701 for cylindrical vertical water tanks. Moulds are made cylindrical shaped with flat Bottom and a man hole is provided on the top side to allow a person to enter in to it if necessary; maintaining height and diameter measurements within the permissible limit of the standard. The weight of various capacity tanks are also maintained as per Clause 5.1 of the standard IS 12701. Heat Chamber When the mould is completely in the heating chamber, the heating chamber door is closed. Then the gas oven and circulation blower are switched on. The chamber is set to predetermined temperature, speed (RPM) of arm and carrier and time for heating the mould. In case of white inside layer, white mix is fed through the top of the heating chamber through the funnel after the black powder has melted. An alarm sets
off after the process is done, in order to maintain the specification, which insists the outer layer should be thicker than inner layer; Black/White powder ratio is maintained for different capacity of tanks.
Cooling The turret is transferred from the heating chamber to cooling chamber where it is cooled by exhaust and cooling fan for the required time. Then it is water sprayed to further cool. Unloading & Finishing After it is cooled, the mould is ready for unloading. The tank is unloaded scraping off extra edges and visual tested for quality. It is checked for

Any black spot on the inner white surface. Any slight black shade in the inner surface. Any rough finish Any lack uniformity of white layer and black layer. Any pinhole at flash line. Any foreign particle.
UV Resistance UV Rays gradually destroys the plasticity of the tank and makes it brittle and easily breakable. In order to avoid this, we use carbon as a UV stabilizer. Infrastructure The machines used are modern and conforming to global standards. The Gas burner is imported from Italy. The perfection of the equipments and the operations ensure that there is minimal wastage due to substandard quality. The process is entirely environment friendly.
Quality Tests Quality tests are carried at different stages of production.
The raw material is first tested so as to standardize the further procedures for a master batch.
At Extrusion, the pellets are tested if they conform to carbon black parameters as set by ISI.
Visual Test after the product comes out of mould. A sample of each batch tested on various parameters like tensile strength, durability, flexibility etc.
If conforming to the ISI specifications, branded batches move to stock yard.

A grievance is any factor involving wages, hours or conditions of employment that is used as complaint against the employer. A good grievance redress system is in the organization. The company always maintains all safety standards, which relates to the employees. The company treats and tests each of the separate ingredients of quality of the product before they are combined to make a finished output to be issued for sale in the market. All of the material used for plastic water tank manufacturing conforms to drinking water standards; making it safe and ensuring that it meets the international standards. The company is involved in different environmental activities. Trade union and the management are on good terms. This training helped me to understanding what the company is all about and the company's functioning. The employees are the asset of every organization. In this company since the management has commitment to its employees and provides many benefits to them, the employees also has commitment to the organization. Almost 150 workers are working in this company and most of them are efficient and talented workers. The good working condition, good atmosphere, young and talented management is the most important thing.
