TYPE OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATION

Partnership is a type of business entity in which partners (owners) share the profits or losses of the business. Partnerships are often favored over corporations for taxation purposes, because the partnership structure does not generally incur a tax on profits before it is distributed to the partners. However, depending on the partnership structure and the jurisdiction in which it operates, owners of a SMORGASBORD CATERING SERVICE Page 3

partnership may be exposed to greater personal liability than they would as shareholders of a corporation. And as colleagues who graduated on the same field and wanting to have an output of what we have learned and to express our skills through this kind of business chooses General Partnership because in general partnership, all of the partners share equal rights and responsibilities in the management in the business. Demand
Product/Service Situation
The demand for food have become popular in the country due to such reasons that people nowadays love to serve food during special occasions like Christmas, birthdays, corporate events, parties and many more. This industry is strong in the Global City located in Taguig City because it is one of the business areas in the country. Global City in Taguig City is accessible for foreign and local people since it is near to other known cities.

Catering service became on e of the most demand services in the Philippines since people nowadays want their friends, and guest to taste different food. They also want to experience the ambience of eating on other countries. Instead of going to other countries or hiring international chef we are bringing them this kind of service close to them. This will be an advantage to them because they could choose their own style and food to serve. They will not have options on what to do because it is them that will be making the decisions.

The demand always depends on the seasonality, wants, and needs of the customers. Data of the Past Five Years Consumption

Market Description
Size and Composition Taguig is a city in Metro Manila in the Philippines. From a thriving fishing community along the shores of Laguna de Bay, it is now an important residential, commercial and industrial center. The recent construction of the Circumference 5 (C-5) highway and the acquisition of the Fort Bonifacio development area have paved the way for the cityhood of the municipality. Taguig City is politically subdivided into 28 barangays. In December 2008, ten new barangays were created in the city after a successful plebiscite by virtue of City Ordinance Nos. 24-27, 57-61, 67-69, and 78, Series of 2008.

HISTORY Bonifacio Global City, located in the progressive city of Taguig, is a project of Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC), backed by a partnership of two of the country's most reputable names in real estate development. In April 2003, Ayala Land, Inc. and Evergreen Holdings Inc. of the Campos Group of Companies completed the acquisition of a controlling interest in FBDC. Ayala Land provides its expertise in pioneering and sustaining successful business districts and large-scale integrated communities, starting with the Makati Central Business District. The Campos group lends it financial acumen and experience in real estate development. BCDA ensures total commitment to the land and guadianship of the property. Together, the partners have strengthened FBDC's financial stability and have provided a sustainable vision of the future. We subdivided our business department into two sections: Management Department and Operations Department. Under Management Department are all office works and managerial processes of the business. On the other hand, on the Operations Department section, all operational activities from the operations in back of the house and in front of the house are included. Moreover, our business prefers an advance organization of our files and legal papers. We will be using computers for our file storage and horizontal racks and cabinets for all of our hard copies. We put our office outside of the operation area for an easy delivery of supplies. For this reason, a single trip of delivery is possible. For heavy materials like machineries and equipments, we put a storage room inside the operational area for an easy access of inspectors and for the comfort of our employees as well. We have also designed a proper storage and installation of our materials to conserve space for safety of our employees and guests we also designed signage to indicate danger and to prevent accidents. This proposal is better than any other alternatives because we really took time preparing this for a better handling of materials. Cost Incurred as a Result The prices of the materials on the table above are really the most efficient cost we had researched. These costs may change because we all know that prices in the market are really flexible. The price may go higher rather

SMORGASBORD CATERING SERVICE

Page 45

POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES

than it was or it may go lower depending on the demand and supply of the material. The company makes sure that all prices above are the most affordable price in the market. They conducted researches on different stores within Metro Manila for them to find the price that is within their means. These prices can help our business to be more competitive than the others because we spent less but we make sure that the materials are good in quality. You can also log on these following sites for prices reference: www..com http://www.sbcs.com.ph www.officemax.com www.tipid.com

You can also visit these following stores: SM Department Store Abenson Appliance Center Trinoma Robinsons Appliance Center

These websites and stores are just some of the resources of the prices above. There are still available stores around that may have a different price but we are sure those prices above are the affordable price we researched.

Factors That Will Affect Service Budget constraint Budget constraint can be a very big problem in our company if we do not have enough budgets; the company may go bankrupt and cannot operate anymore. Technical conditions Our service will be affected if there will be situations where our equipments, all electronically played, be broken. It will cause our sales to decline until our equipments are not yet fixed. Weather If there is any unexpected weather condition, we cannot continue our operation in the site because it may affect the events and the equipments. Shown above (table 1.3) are the estimated costs of the utilities for ten years. On the first year , installation fee is included upon payment thats why it is much higher than the other years. For the power/electricity supply, it was estimated as P360,000 annually, based on the collected data. For water supply, it would be around P410,000 a year. These payments would not be considered as stable for we have an unstable economy. These only serve as a guideline of the expenses of the utilities.

In case of sudden or temporary unavailability of these utilities, there are some alternative sources for each of them. These are: For power failure. If there is a sudden brown/black out, which are not avoidable, you can avail a generator. A generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy, generally using electromagnetic induction. The reverse conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy is done by a motor. This equipment might be expensive and is also big. Poor Internet Connection. You can use a broadband or wireless connection, just like Tattoo of Globe. It is quite expensive because you must pay P15.00 every 1 hour.
