Under instruction of my client Shri Nitin Gadkari, President, Bharatiya Janata Party, I do hereby serve upon you with the following notice1. That my client Shri Nitin Gadkari has a good reputation in the country and in public at large. The party cadre and supporters look up to him for guidance and directions on important issues of country, including the view of BJP on same. My client has worked and fought extensively for the welfare and rights of agriculturists of the country. 2. That you are giving false statements to television channels such as ABP and NDTV, which are also being widely published in newspapers and in emedia on 27.9.2012 across India, wherein you have made false statement and insinuated that my client has business relations with Sharad Pawar and that as a result my client has therefore, tried to dissuade you from proceeding in the irrigation scam and tried to restrain you from filing a public interest litigation to expose the irrigation scam. 3 That my client strongly denies the false, baseless and defamatory statement that he has any business relations with Sh. Sharad Pawar. You are making such false and baseless statements only to make sensation with the object to defame my clients. The BJP Unit of State of Maharashtra was the first to unearth the irrigation scam and has under taken public agitations in addition to appropriate legal remedy for this purpose.

My client therefore states that the entire statements , you have stated are deliberate lie with an intention to slander my client and are designed to defame the reputation of my client, who being National President of BJP, occupies a respected position in the political affairs of the nation as well as in society.

I hereby give you legal notice on behalf of my client Shri Nitin Gadkari to take immediate steps to retract forthwith false, baseless and defamatory remarks and also tender public apology promptly, failing which, I will be at liberty to initiate appropriate legal proceedings against you, for which you be solely responsible.

A copy of the present Notice is kept in my office for any further action.
