United Arab Emirates (AE)

United Arab Emirates is a member state of the Gulf Cooperation council (GCC). The United Arad Emirates comprise the following independent sheikdoms: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al Qawain. Capital: Abu Dhabi

1. Passport: Passport required

Document validity:
Passport or passport replacing documents of visitors must be valid for: At least 3 months from the date of entry, for visits of up to 3 months; or A t least 6 months from the date of entry, for visits exceeding 3 months.

Nationals of the UAE can enter with passport and/or passport replacing documents valid on arrival. Emergency passports issued to nationals of Austria must be valid at least one year in arrival. Those residing in United Arab Emirates may enter with travel documents valid on arrival.

Admission and Transit Restrictions: Admission refused to stateless passengers even if holding a valid visa for the UAE. However they may transit without a visa provided continuing by the same aircraft 11 Admission refused to Palestinians holding documents issued by Iraq or Egypt. Admission refused to nationals of Israel. Admission refused to holders of non - machine readable passports issued to nationals of Pakistan. Except are hand-written passports issued to:

Those entitled to reside in the United Arab Emirates, provided holding proof thereof. Those holding visa issued prior 23 August 2010.

Crew Members:Nationals of the United Arab Emirates entering on Emirates Airlines only, may enter if holding a Crew Identity Card and a General Declaration Form. Military: Passport not required for holders of US Military Identity Cards and travel orders. Additional Information: Admission refused to holders of Kuwait passport stamped article 17, pra2 (except if being wife of a national of the UAE and holding visa) Holders of passports containing an Israeli visa or stamps need to obtain a clearance issued by the C.L.D. (Crime Investigation Dept) upon arrival. Minors: passport is not required if the minor is named in a parents passport.

Visa Exemptions: Nationals of the United Arab Emirates. Nationals of Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Nationals of Kuwait, except those holding Kuwaiti passports stamped article 17, pra2. Holders of diplomatic passports being nationals of Jordan. Holders of a resident Permit issued by the United Arab Emirates. TWOV (Transit without Visa): Transit passengers continuing their journey to the third country by the same or the rst connecting aircraft within 24 hours and holding: Tickets with conrmed seats; and Documents required for their next destination and not leaving the transit area. Merchant Seamen: Merchant Seamen arriving by air in order to board a ship, or if arriving by a ship in order to board an aircraft must travel on duty and hold a letter of Guarantee from the shipping company. Visa is not required for Merchant Seamen being nationals of Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Visa is not required for Merchant Seamen being nationals of Kuwait. However, if holding a passport stamped article17, para2 a visa is required. Crew Members: Visa not required for nationals of the United Arab Emirates only if entering as a crewmember on Emirates Airlines (EK). Military: A visa is not required, proved holding a Military ID Card issued by one of the GCC Member States, being a national of that country of that country and coming from and returning to the country of nationality.

Visa Issuance:
1. Prior to arrival: please contact nearest representation of the United Arab Emirates. the 2. Nationals of Belgium, Finland, Italy , Korea (REP), Luxembourg, Malaysia, Norway , Portugal, Singapore, Spain and 3.

Holders of Hong Kong (SAR China) passports can obtain a visa on arrival for a max.stay of 30 days .Free of charge. Nationals of Germany can obtain a visaon arrival for a max. stay of 30 days. Free of charge: 6.1. For holders of normal passport. 6.2. For holders of diplomatic passports. 6.3. For holders of Identity Cards (kinderausweis) issued to minors up to/incl.15 years of age. Holders of normal British passports endorsed British Citizen can obtain a visa on arrival for a max. stay of 30 days. Free of charge. Holders of normal passports and a copy of prearranged visa can obtain a visa on arrival. Prearranged visa must be deposited by the sponsor at the Immigration Authorities and can be issued for 96 hours,14 or 30 days. 21 24 27 26 22 23 Holders of diplomatic, service, special ofcial , or consular passports issued to nationals of Australia, France, Japan , , USA and the United Kingdom can obtain a visa on arrival if holding an-e Visa receipt. Holders of diplomatic passport issued to nationals of Algeria, Armenia, Egypt, Tunisia and Turkey can obtain a visa on arrival for a max. stay of 90 days. Free of charge. Holders of consular, diplomatic, service and special passports traveling on duty can obtain a pre-arranged (by the protocol Department) visa on arrival. Visa must be available at the Immigration Authority upon arrival. Passenger must hold a copy showing the issuance and expiry date of the visa and an OK to Board message from the airline. Holders of a ResidencePermit issued by a GCC Memberstate can obtain a visa on arrival for a max. stay 30 days, provided: Residing in a GCC country for at least 1 year and Holding conrmed return tickets. Fee: AED 185. 12.1. For Nationals of Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece , Iceland, Ireland (Rep.of), Italy, Japan Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, , Switzerland, USA or Vatican City. 12.2.For nationals of any other country 21 25, if profession stated in the passport is: businessman, director, doctor, engineer or accountant. 13. A 96-hour (Dubai Stop-over) transit visa can be obtained on arrival at DXB provided: Traveling to a third country through Dubai International Airport; Transit time is at least 8 hours; and Holding return/onward ticket and a hotel reservation ;and Traveling at least one sector (inbound or outbound) on Emirates (EK). Additional Information: 1. All visitors must:


1.1. Hold documents for their next destination; Have sponsor in the UAE to cover their stay. Exempt are nationals of Andorra, Australia, Austria, Bahrain , Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark,

Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland (Rep.of), Italy, Japan, Korea (Rep.), Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Nethe rlands, New Zealand Norway, Oman, Portugal, Qatar , Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, the United Kingdom and Vatican City. 2. Nationals of Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gre Kong (SAR China), Iceland, Ireland (Republic of ), Italy, Japan, Korea (Rep.), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Portugal, San Marino, U.S.A., United Kingdom (Great Britain) or Vatican City can extend their stay for another 30 days, against a ee of AED 600. , if applied for at least 2 days prior to the expiry date of the visa issued on arrival. f 3. Visitors must report rst to the Immigration ofce in town if they wish to leave the country more than 21 days after cancellation of their visa, wheth er or not they are planning to apply for a new visa abroad. 4. A visa : For the United Arab Emirates is valid for all seven Sheikdoms; Included in an expired passport, can be accepted for travel; If airport of arrival is Dubai, can be applied for, prior to arrival, and issued through entering through any other UAE airport, internet issued visa (e-Visa) is not accepted. 5. Resident Visas will be cancelled should the holder remain o utside the United Arabs Emirates for months. 5.1. Exempt are university students holding a valid university identity card or letter issued by a university, stating that they are current students.

Minors:
If named in a parents passport and beingof a visa required nationality, the minor is also required to be named in the visa. If the minor is not covered by the visa they will not be allowed entry. Furthermore, the minor can only be accepted for travel provided that they are accompanied by the holder of the passport.

Warning:
Non-compliance with entry/transit regulations may result in a ne and costs for the transporting carrier. At Dubai International Airport, a ne of AED 5,000. - shall be imposed per inadmissible passenger, with an additional AED 1,000.- per passenger per day, until the passengers departure from Dubai International Airport. Notes: 21 No visa will be issued on arrival to female passengers under 30 years of age, being nationals of CIS countries. 22 Not applicable to nationals of Canada. 23 Not applicable to nationals of Afghanistan, Iraq, Niger, Somalia and Yemen. 24 Not applicable to holders of hand-written passports issued to nationals of Pakistan when holding (pre visasissued on/after 23 August 2010. 25 Not applicable to Palestinians holding documents issued by Iraq or Egypt. 26 Not applicable to holders of Palestinians documents. 27 Even if a passenger holds proof that he will be met by the sponsor at the airport, deportation on the same ight will follow if the sponsor(or his representative) is not present at the time of passengers arrival at the airport.

No vaccinations are required to enter the United Arab Emirates from any country. No airport tax is levied on passengersupon embarkation at the airport.

5. Customs: Import: Free import:


400 cigarettes and cigars to a max.value of AED 3,000.- and 2 kilograms of tobacco (Not applicable to snufng or chewing tobacco); Perfumes or any other gifts provided for personal use, to a value of AED 3,000. -; Alcoholic beverages, in: o o o Prohibited 51: Abu Dhabi and Fujairah: Fruits and vegetables, fruits and vegetables from cholera infected areas, cultivated pearls. Dubai and Sharjah: uncooked edible seafood, fruits and vegetables from cholera infected areas. Arms and Ammunition A permit from local authorities is required for rearms. : Export: Free export, proof of purchase is required for large amounts of cash, gold and jewellery. Pets: Cats, dogs and birds 51 must be accompanied by: Import permit issued by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Environment and Water (UAE MoEW); and Veterinarian good health certicate issued by the competent authorities of the exporting country. Additionally, cats and dogs 51 must have vaccination documentation and a complete vaccination history and (if required) a Rabies Serum Test result and they must be micro chipped. All pets must be imported as manifested cargo only and can be exported as checked baggage provided holding ofcial export certicate from Ministry of Environment. Service dogs accompanying the passengers are permitted in the cabin under strict conditions and after fullling all import requirements. Per animal AED 400. - is being charged for import and inspection. The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Environment and Water (UAE MoEW) has published a list of banned breeds of dogs. Non -compliance with the import regulation will result in deportation of the pet to point of origin at owners expense of conscation or destroyal of the pet. Any costs incurred arising from the failure to comply with the import regulations, such as handling fees and animal shelter fees will be charged to the passenger accompanying the animal. Furthermore,the carrier concerned will be charged for the transferring of the animal between the Passenger and Cargo Terminal. Baggage Clearance: Baggage must be cleared at rst point of entry, even if coming from another Sheikdom, which is part of the UAE. Exempt : o Transiting within 24 hours and not going through customs. Baggage can be stored before customs clearance for max.24 hours if passenger wants to leave transit area, provided the baggage is interlined to the nal destination. At Dubai airport baggage can also be stored by the handling agent (DNATA) for more than 24 hours. Fee AED 10.- per piece of baggage. o Dubai airport also provides a service to passengers continuing their journey within 24 hours and holding separate tickets to nal destination. This service provides baggage transfer does not need to clear passport/customs control. Fee AED 300. per passenger. Notes: 51 Until further notice, import of live and dead birds (and derived products) is prohibited from all Asian countries, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Tunisia and other countries that may be affected by Avian Flu. For birds in transit, from all other countries, a transit permit is required. 6. Currency: Import : Local currency (United Arab Em. Dirham - AED) and foreign currencies: allowed, however, currency exceeding AED 100,000. (or equivalent) must be declared on arrival. Export: Local currency (United Arab Em. Dirham -AED) and foreign currencies: No restrictions. 5 Abu Dhabi and Fujairah: 4 litres of any kind of alcohol, provided passenger is non - Muslim; Dubai: 24 cans of beers or 4 litres of any other kind of alcohol; Sharjah: 2 litres of alcohol and one case of beer.
