Andrew,

I was so glad to hear from you. I had talked to your mom and she thought they were only
going to let you get mail from immediate family. I prayed about it and thank God He
answered.

I am glad you are trying to develop a relationship with God and I would love to disciple
you. There is nothing that excites me more than to help someone develop their faith and
walk in the Lord. It seems anymore there are so few who really has a whole hearted
desire to serve the Lord. He is so worthy to be served. I can vouch that He will never
leave you nor forsake you. He has never disappointed me. I especially love to see young
people get on fire for God. A true saintly young person sticks out like a BIG SORE
THUMB among other young people, and boy do they ever need to see some saintly
young people to model their lives after. Actually God expects the same thing from every
born again believer and that is to walk uprightly according to His word and if you are
saved you have the means to do just that. I strongly believe in living a holy life. It is the
only way to live a happy and prosperous life and I promise you Andrew, God will give
you a wonderful and prosperous life if you are faithful to Him.

Here is what God has taught me. This body of flesh that we live in is naturally wicked
and sinful. We all have many of the same sinful inclinations. It doesn’t matter if your 15,
30, 50 or 80 years old. Some may give in to more sins and may go deeper in them than
others but we all have our struggles with sin. Sin starts in the mind. James 1:14 & 15
says, But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth
forth death. We have to take control of our thoughts, with God’s help, because they
influence which direction we go in all matters of our life. Bad decisions are what got you
where you are, and we’ve all made some in our lives. Ephesians 4:22-24 says, “That ye
put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the
deceitful lusts; 23. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24. And that ye put on the
new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. I heard this
saying once that goes like this, “sow a thought, reap an act, sow an act reap a habit,
sow a habit reap an eternity.” It is very true.

I’ve never drank so I’ve never experienced a buzz and I’ve never been on drugs so I’ve
never been on a high, and I’m sure they must feel good because many many people have
been enslaved to their powers. But I can say there isn’t a man alive who hasn’t
experienced an orgasm and know what the power of sexual lust is. I know beyond a
shadow of a doubt that there is freedom from all of these lusts and temptations, but we
don’t fight them in our own might and strength. 2Cor 10:4-5 says, “(For the weapons of
our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of
Christ;

It’s not just the world that has a strong hold on you Andrew, it is the devil. But the
scripture says, he whom the son sets free is free in deed. Jesus can and wants to set you
free, all you have to do is give Him control and that’s what we are going to believe Him
to do. Being a Christian is living victoriously in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross of
Calvary. The apostle Paul wrote in Galations 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the
flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” God
does not expect you to do this on your own. He will give you the power and strength to
do it just like He has me & millions of others and the Apostle Paul as well, after all, he
was just a man just like me and you. You have to know that you will have to make many
decisions in your life as a Christian that won’t be popular with those around you. But
God has called us to be a peculiar people and we can’t be held back or caught up in what
others are thinking about us or whether they like it or they don’t. It’s called pleasing God
and not men. You are not hopelessly bound by the devil. Jude, verse 24 says, “Now unto
him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence
of his glory with exceeding joy” Growing stronger in the Lord will require some things
of you that you probably never thought about before. Choosing new friends. The Bible
says bad company corrupts good morals. You will act like those you hang with. We want
to see God make you the person, a new creation in Him if you will, that others will want
to pattern their lives after, and God can and WILL do that if you let Him.

Andrew you have no idea how happy and fulfilled your life can be in Jesus Christ. If He
wasn’t the best thing there is in this life I would not have served Him for 37 years. I hope
and pray you are ready to experience that for yourself. If you are, with God’s guidance
and blessing, I can get you there.

I am curious about your anger problem. You don’t have to tell me about it if you don’t
want but I might be able to pray more effectively if I know what I’m praying about.

I will be praying that you work real hard and get to come home soon. I would prefer to
work with you face to face so yes, I will look forward to talking with you as soon as time
permits. Having to correspond by letters will slow down the discipleship process but
God knows best and we will work with what we have. As far as I know Josh doesn’t
know you said anything about him unless you said it to him. I will tell him though that
you said hey and will play him a game of football when you see him.

I will be praying everything goes well for you there & look forward to hearing from you
again soon. I am going to say a prayer for you now.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for what you have begun in Andrews life. It
hasn’t been an easy road for him getting here but you knew
what it would take and I praise you that you are in control of
his life right now. I pray that you will do a mighty work in his
heart. Make the soil of his heart fertile so your Holy Spirit can
do a supernatural work in him. Take the desires out of his
heart to ever return to those things that the devil once had
him bound. Set him free from the lusts for them and give
him the strength to never give in to the influences of those
the devil would use to pull him back. Give him a hunger and
thirst for righteousness that would far outweigh every desire
of his former life. Give him the determination to put you first
in his life and help him to not let others hinder him and his
walk for you. Put your hand of protection upon him. Keep
him safe from everything the enemy would use to harm him
in any way. Give your angels charge over his life. Work in
his life and the circumstances to bring him home soon. Use
me to lead him to where you want him to be and make him
an example that will lead others to you. Give him a selfless
love for others that will motivate him to become a useful
vessel for your honor and glory. Help him with his anger
problem. You know what that is all about. Heal his hurts of
his past and let him feel your mighty love for him. Give him
forgiveness and love for any who have wronged him. Put
your Holy Spirit in him so he can walk victoriously in your will
and be a bright and shining light pointing others to you. I
ask all these things in the blessed name of Jesus, AMEN!!!!

God bless you brother,

Doug
