Should Gods remnant observe the Feast Days?

By Dionne Sabbay Thompson December 1st 2010 (Revised)

Listen to: A Bible Study relating to the Feast days and GODs character. Should Gods remnant observe the Feast days? The following verse emphasizes the completion of the law of commandments in the ordinances, but, what are the ordinances? It remains clear that God's remnant must keep the Ten Commandments, as it reveals God's nonnegotiable, eternal, "Character Transcript": and, they are binding eternally, as CHRIST did not come to destroy the Ten Commandments see Exo. 20, Psa. 111:7-10, Matt. 5:17. The Prophet Ellen G. White within a vision saw the Ten Commandments in the Holy of Holies see Early Writings pages 32-33. Eph. 2:15 reveals the following: "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace" Ellen G. White, a Prophet of God, directs God's remnant to: Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I can not away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul

hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood" Isa. 1:13-15.1 What does all of the above mean, as we attempt to sort out truth regarding this serious matter regarding Gods required obedience? The following verse points to the cessation of oblations, but what are oblations, scripturally? The Merriam Webster dictionary defines "Oblations" as a gift, sacrifice or offering, but dictionaries are man's creation and they are uninspired. The Mosaic Law was inspired and written by Moses, containing the ceremonies and sacrificial services that were given from God. Conversely, the Ten Commandments were written with the finger of God see Exo. 31:18. Daniel 9:27 reveals the following "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate". What is EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS"? "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy" Dan.9:24. Yeshua, Christ Jesus, provided mankind with everlasting righteousness as a free gift. His greatest expression of love is embodied in His suffering, death, resurrection and victory over the world and sin, achieved at CalvaryEmmanuel identified fully with mankind, God with us Matt. 1:23, John 19:30, 1Cor. 15:45. 'These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world' (John 16:33).2 Christs gift of imputed righteousness permits His remnant to continually advance in sanctification see 2Pet. 3:18. Proverbs 4:18 edifies that the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. What are the Feast days? 1. Passover or Pesach Lev. 23:5 2. Unleavened Bread or Chaghamatzot Lev. 23:6-8

3. First Fruits or Chaghabikurim Lev. 23:9-14 4. Pentecost or Weeks (Shavuoth) Lev. 23:15-21 5. Trumpets (Yom T' ruah) Rosh Hashanah Lev. 23:23:-25 6. Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur Lev. 23:26-32 7. Tabernacles or Booths (Ingathering) Lev. 23:33-44 Joel clearly illustrates that the Feast of Trumpets and its antitypical sounding is now, directing the "watchmen" to blow the trumpet, but, what does this all mean? As a directive from the fourth angel's message or "loud cry", sincere believers must evacuate spiritually from Babylon, following God without compromise Rev. 18:1-4. Mankind has been in the ANTITYPICAL TIME OF ATONEMENT since October 22, 1844 (Great Controversy chapter 24), as Hebrews 8:3-4, 9:12-28 points to Christ's work in the Most Holy apartment of the Heavenly Sanctuary or the Holy of Holies. When Christ returns, He will gather up and reap the wheat that are "ripe" or fully developed in Christian character see Matt. 13:25-30, Mark 4:26-29, Rev. 14:14-15. It appears obvious that the Feast days or "Ordinances" and Sacrifices are done away with, but wait here are two final quotations, making a clear distinction between Christ's work and that of the Pharisees during His life course on planet earth (from 4BC to 31 AD): First deciding quote: The Pharisees were dissatisfied with the teachings of Christ. The practical godliness which he enjoined condemned them. They desired him to dwell upon the external observances of the ceremonial law, and the customs and traditions of the fathers. But Jesus taught the spiritual nature of the law and made clear its far-reaching claims. Love to God and to men must live in the heart and control the life, as the spring of every thought and every action.3 Second deciding quote: But there is a law which was abolished, which Christ "took out of the way, nailing it to his cross." Paul calls it "the law of commandments contained in ordinances." This ceremonial law, given by God through Moses, with its sacrifices and ordinances, was to be binding upon the Hebrews until type met antitype in the death of Christ as the Lamb of God to take away the sin of the world. Then all the sacrificial offerings and services were to be abolished. Paul and the other apostles labored to show this, and resolutely withstood those Judaizing teachers who declared that Christians should observe the ceremonial law.4
