Video-Enhanced Teacher Support and Reflective Practice Teacher Agreement CONTEXT: To enact the requirements of the Teacher Effectiveness

Initiative in Memphis City Schools, the Office of Reflective Practice and Instructional Support (ORPIS) continuously work to strategically to redefine or modernize support opportunities for teachers. The goal of the Office of Reflective Practice and Instructional Support (ORPIS) is to innovate meaningful, relevant, and effective support for teachers in an efficient way that manages resources, costs, and time. Board policy on Teacher Evaluation (5.108) states, teachers who receive a composite score of two (2) or lower on the TEM or an individual score of two (2) or lower on any component of the TEM shall be required to participate in targeted (based on a teachers evaluation results) professional development in accordance with policy 5.8034 Professional Development and may seek additional available teacher support through district and other resources. It is the responsibility of our district to provide intervention, enrichment, and differentiated support for all teachers, not just those who may struggle. The goals that define priorities of the Office of Reflective Practice and Instructional Support (ORPIS) support work are (1) to connect professional support to individual need, and (2) to provide innovative and collaborative professional growth opportunities for teachers. Multiple measures of effective teaching require multiple pathways for support. The system that makes both of these priorities achievable requires utilizing the camera for reflective practice. The way to accelerate teacher effectiveness is through reflective practice. By training teachers to engage in a deeper analysis of practice, coaches and teacher leaders can support teachers in meeting the expectations defined by the TEM Teaching and Learning Framework and all TEM components. Through reflective practice, teachers are empowered to be the most impactful schoollevel factor in student achievement.
Please read and sign to indicate understanding of the following: I understand that no live teaching episode may be filmed without my permission. I may choose to submit a video capture in lieu of a live observation (please refer to Video Observation protocol for specific directions). I may choose to remove a shared video capture from the district library at any time. I will be provided access through a secure website to view the videos of my classroom for my own purposes.

A Professional Growth and Support Plan (PGSP) may be developed to support my growth as measured by the TEM Teaching and Learning Framework. As part of the support, I may be asked to utilize video capture as a means to support my professional growth per Board policy on Teacher Evaluation (5.108), which states, teachers who receive a composite score of two

(2) or lower on the TEM or an individual score of two (2) or lower on any component of the TEM shall be required to participate in targeted (based on a teachers evaluation results) professional development in accordance with policy 5.8034 Professional Development and may seek additional available teacher support through district and other resources.
