SCIENCE FAIR

Why do the Science Fair and Science Research?

This is a very important and relevant question that all students need to ask themselves before committing to a science research project. How can doing science research help you? The truth is, any student who puts in the time and effort to complete an independent science project wins in so many ways, regardless of whatever outside recognition he or she receives. The first positive thing that comes to mind is the knowledge gained from the experience. No matter what the project or scientific discipline studied, every single student who does a project will learn a tremendous amount of science. Perhaps a more important way of thinking about this is that every single student will have the rare chance of learning how science is really done. Students in this school have an incredible opportunity to be curious about something and then go after it full speed to try and find answers. Very few high schools offer such opportunities to their students. You will learn that science really does take time; researchers have to be meticulous, competent, clever, creative, motivated, and fascinated with the way nature works. There is no better feeling than learning the PEQUEA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL

Science Fair- ISEF

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world's largest international precollege science competition, provides an annual forum for more than 1,500 high school students from about 70 countries, regions, and territories to showcase their independent research as they compete for over $3 million annually. The Intel ISEF is the premier global science competition for students in grades 912.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED AND WHO CAN YOU TALK TO ABOUT THE SCIENCE FAIR?
At the high school you can talk to any science teacher or any teacher in general. Mrs. Shay will be designated the science fair advisor but any teacher in the sciences can also help you at anytime. Below are your PVHS science teachers.
