My Dream Job

Summary of My dream Job Snap! A new moment has successfully been captured. Photography is all about catching the action and emotion of an event and that is exactly what I want to do. Photographers can work for a number of different jobs and usually dont need a college degree. Even though you may think they need lots of equipment many start out small with a single camera. Photography is an interesting job with cool facts, but in order to be one you must have the necessary skills and requirements. A photographers main job is to capture the moment of an event, person, or anything they see that is interesting. Many have their own studios and have self run businesses. Others work as photojournalists, wedding photographers, industrial and scientific photographers, and many other types of photography. Also, many who get tired of the business go into graphic design or art. Photographers working in a business labor long and irregular hours and always have to be ready. Self- employed photographers have an easy flexible schedule but always have to be looking for assignments (Test Prep 2&3). There arent many requirements for being a photographer except Skill, creativity, training, and determination and usually no formal education is needed (Test Prep 2). If you

Vought 5 are going to be in the scientific and industrial photography a college degree is required. Other requirement they must have is good eyesight and color vision and must be good at working with detail. They must also be creative and artistic, photography is more than a job it is an art. Experience and exposure also helps with being successful in this field. New photographers should work as apprentices and interns to gain more skills that are needed (Test Prep 2). If all these requirements are met with some extent most photographers will have a successful career. Even when all the requirements are met, photographers will still need mandatory skills. They will need to have a basic knowledge of camera equipment and lighting. They must have experience with handling equipment and using it in the right way. Good communication skills are required basically for anyone who is running a business or working in one. Technology skills are also needed, for example working with Adobe Photoshop and other programs when editing photographs (Test Prep 2). All of these skills are necessary to receive or start a job in this field. My dream job is very interesting and has reachable requirements and skills. Photographers have a very fun job and get to experience many new things. It has many different sections of work and has many different jobs that use it. Since this job requires creativity and individuality I think it is the job for.

Vought 6 in order to create interesting pictures, decisive at when to and not to take a photo, and leadership in controlling where the business must go. Photography is not just taking a picture it is an art. Creativity is key to taking pictures that are interesting and not boring. They must also have imagination for what picture they want to take and make. Creativity is extremely important otherwise pictures might be boring. In photography you also edit a photo, which is a lot like painting a picture. In order for that edited photo to have depth and character you need creativity to make the right edits and give it originality and creativity. I think I am a creative person and my creativity will make by photography fun and enjoying. Within a second a picture is taken and in a second a moment is gone, that is why a photographer must be a quick decision maker. When I took the personality test It said that my type of personality is really good at making decisions ("ESFJ Profile" 7). I think I have the quality of making quick decisions. It is an important quality to have; you always have to be thinking about when or when not to take your camera out. Their may be a moment when you may miss an event that is taking place quickly, and that is why you must be able to make a quick decision of taking your camera out. Also, many photographers must run their own businesses and have to be individualistic and in control of their occupation. My personality also explains how people like me like to take responsibility and care for things, just how a business should be cared for in a good and responsible manner (ESFJ profile 6). They have to be able to decide and manage their company. If they dont have strong leadership skills those working under them may get away with things that arent supposed to happen. Vought 7 their business. Leadership is a strong quality that I have, and it will help me if I ever decide to have my own photography studio. There are many traits a photographer must have in order to be successful. I feel that I have many of those traits and can be successful in the career. Traits that I have include: creativity, decisiveness, and leadership. Photography is the job for me because I have the right personality to make it fun and successful and with these traits I can pursue my goals, of being a photographer, through high school.

My Goals Before I can snap the shot I have some goals to complete before becoming a photographer. These goals are important for my future in this occupation. My goals consist of: taking photography classes in high school, having a more experience photographer teach me techniques, and getting into a good photography college. I have a goal to take a photography class in high school. This class can help me start off with the basics of photography, and can help me get a better idea of the photography world. It may also help me with important skills I need to success and can give me a general idea of how everything works. A high school class may also enhance my skills to a point where I can start to learn even more things on my own. It can also help me with a technology side of things such as, learning Adobe Photoshop other applications. When learning the technology side of photography it can help with giving a background in computers, ultimately helping in more variety of work in photography. This class will greatly impact my future in photography. I also hope to learn even more skills from an experienced photographer. Vought 8 someone who has both (Test Prep 2). An experienced person may also teach you important things that may not be taught in school. It is very important to also practice with them so they can help you with what you have trouble. They can correct your mistakes and watch over you and teach you how things should be done. They can also tell you all the secrets and tricks to the profession and can give you good advice for the future. Getting into a good photography college will help my career also. In college I cannot only learn the rest of the skills I need for photography, but also communications and managing. Communicate with people is really important specially when you are interacting with a lot of people on a daily basis. Managing is also important so that your business doesnt end up in a flop. It can help with organization and important skills needed for running a business. All the things I will learn in college will help my line of work in the future. I can achieve my dream job through the goals I have and skills I will require and the personality that I have. Photography is a very interesting job with many different skills needed. Also, in order to have success you must have a certain personality traits. Ultimately my goals will help me be successful in the road ahead. By achieving my dream job I can one day capture my moment of life.
