Overview of the system

Satwhiz is an online portal, spam-free, which helps students get a secure college placement in the US. It runs a dedicated and diverse system through which it disseminates all sorts of information possible required to help an aspirant before he/she takes up the coveted and much-dreaded SAT. It starts with the individual registration procedure which is online and absolutely easy to handle. One needs to dole out the basic information, thats all.

Once the registration is complete, the aspirant is required to take up the course which caters comprehensive knowledge on everything regarding SAT. There are some amazing features of this system which result into a lot of time-saving for any aspirant. The subjects are off course logically fragmented into different sections like any other similar portal, but at Satwhiz, an aspirant has the liberty to switch/jump over to the area of his weakness rather than crawling over known areas and wasting some valuable time.

Answers to each question in a test occur in three forms : Immediate, Intermediate and Advanced, which cater to different levels of understanding of a current aspirant. The candidate will be provided with various useful facilities like Whiztracker (Performance Tracker Module), Whizcuss (Discussion Forum), Whizmail (mailing facility to start communicating with experts), Qwhiz (power to generate ones own quiz to make learning systematic and real fun) and Whiztools (facilitating note-sharing and earmarking a test page).

Lastly, at any point of time, if the aspirant is not satisfied with his/her progress of preparation, he/she can go for One-on-One sessions with best subject experts of the industry. Lastly, the system also disseminates information to an aspirant regarding the best colleges. Thus, it covers everything of the spectrum of SAT from preparation to placement.

Procedure to take a demo test

The procedure is absolutely simple. The user has to follow the navigation path Practice Tests -> Sample Test -> Start Sample Test. There are six (6) sections in this test of Math and English. One will have 84 minutes to complete all sections in the test. Each page of the test will display a countdown of the number of minutes remaining to complete the section he/she is working on. Once the time has elapsed, one cannot continue with that section and will be asked to go to the next section.

The preferences for an aspirant are spread far and wide Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. But they only conform to the features of the test and not in any way to the difficulty level of the test.

One cannot move back to a previous page. So, a thorough revision is recommended before treading forward to a new page. Most importantly, the questions in the Sample Test conform to the old SAT curriculum (prior to 2005). If one wants to get the current set, he/she has to sign up for the course.

Quality of questions

The questions in the sample test conform to the old SAT curriculum (prior to 2005). If an aspirant wants to get the current pattern, he/she has to sign up for the course.

The questions are up-to-date and foster to a student a golden opportunity to hone his/her subject knowledge and skills. They are framed by a team of arguably the best experts in the industry.

The questions meet the entire spectrum of requirements of a dedicated SAT aspirant and also high quality assessment standards.

A comparative study with Study Island

Study Island caters to students with a defined mode of assessing their academic improvement. In Study Island, teachers can prepare an assessment based on a set of standardized questions and cater them to the student(s) so that they go through the assessments to get a feel of where they actually stand, academically, at present. Satwhiz caters exclusively to SAT aspirants. In Study Island, the state-specific requirements are different, but such is not the situation in Satwhiz. In Study Island, both the teachers and students are involved but when it comes to the Praxis Tests, we can see that the majority stakeholder of the process are the SAT aspirants whereas subject experts come into the scene only when the aspirant wants a One-on-One interaction session with them. Of course, Study Island assessments are free whereas Satwhiz is not a free software.
