HeyAIESEC! AIESECinUUMhasrecentlysetsailourveryfirstRecruitmentDrive(RD) fortheterm2012/2013inUUM.ThisRDwasheldfor3days,from 10thuntil13rdOctober2012.Somethingnewinthisrecruitmentaswe weresettingup2boothsin2differentlocations,DKG1andDKG5. ManagementTeam(MT)membersofAIESECinUUMweretryingtheirvery besttointroduceAIESECtoeverystudentinUUMduringtherecruitment drive. Weareproudtosaythat,thereweremorethan500studentsinterested andsignedupforourIntroductionDaytoknowmoreaboutAIESEC! Atlast,wewouldliketothanksourManagementTeamofAIESECinUUM 2012/2013forthesuccessofthisevent. WeareproudtobeanAIESECer!

IntroductionDayisaninductionorganizedbyAIESECinUUMtoletthenew biestounderstandindepthaboutAIESECastheywerestartedtoengagewith AIESECandjoinedusasmembers. AIESECinUUMhadcarriedouttwiceIntroductionDay,oncewason17thwhile anotherwason18thofSeptember2012,atDKG4,SeminarHall.Therewere 200studentsparticipatedinbothofourIntroductionDay.Weintroducedthem aboutAIESEC,our4programmeswhichareTeamMemberProgramme(TMP), TeamLeaderProgramme(TLP),GlobalCommunityDevelopmentProgramme (GCDP)aswellasGlobalInternshipProgramme(GIP). Besides,wehadasessioncarriedoutbyourbabyalumnusNickChangMun Keat,tosharehisAIESECExperiencetoallthenewbies! AftertheIntroductionDay,weproceededwithgroupassessmentfornewbies, inorderforthemtobecomeanAIESECer.Therewere185students,signedup tobecomeournewmembers! Allthebesteveryone!

AIESECinUUMwashavingourveryfirstGlobalExhibitioninthisnewtermorgan izedbyCulturalUnderstandingThroughExchange(C.U.T.E.)project.Thisexhibi tionwasheldon19thand20thSeptember2012atFoyerLibrary,UniversitiUtara Malaysia. Weattractedmorethan7countriessuchasJapan,Kazakhstan,Indonesia,Jordan, Thailand,EgyptandMalaysiatoparticipateinthisexhibition.Eachcountrywas givenaboothtodisplayanddelivertheircountriescultures,traditionalcostumes andtraditionalgames.Internswerehappilypresentandexplainedabouttheir traditionstostudents.Morethan200studentsparticipatedinthisexhibitionto experienceandexploretheculturediversitiesinoneplace.

Theobjectiveofthisassessmentistoassessthecompetenciesandmindsetsofindi vidualswhoareinterestedtobecomemembersofAIESEC. Throughthisassessment,wehadpreparedtwogamesforthenewbies,Buildan OfficeandAIESECGame. BuildanOfficewastobringamessagethatcommunicationplaysanimportantrole inateam.Thepurposeofplayingthisgameistoassessthemembersinagroup whethertheycandelivermessageclearlybyusingnonverbalcommunication whileverbalcommunicationwasprohibited.Besides,theyhadtofocusonutil izingandmanagingthelimitedresourcestobuildupanoffice. AIESECGame,ontheotherhand,wastobringoutamessagethat cooperationfromeverymemberanddepartmentisvitalinordertorunaLocal Committeesuccessfully. AftertheGroupAssessment,newbiesproceededwithanIndividualAssessment inordertoparticipateintheTeamMemberProgramme(TMP). Allthebesteveryone!

Lastly,wewouldliketocongratulatebothofthecandidatesforalltheireffortsandcouragetotakeupthis challenge.Goodluckandallthebestintheindividualinterview!
