Microsoft Launches I.T.

: Its More Fun in the Philippines Campaign Microsoft announces the launch of its 15-city roadshow that will highlight some of the countrys best technology innovations MANILA September 05, 2012 Today, Microsoft Philippines launches Microsoft I.T.: Its More Fun in the Philippines campaign, their first ever nationwide technology roadshow that will not only highlight various technology innovations in 15 cities around the Philippines, but also enable individuals and communities to improve productivity using technology. The roadshow will run for two months beginning September 10 in General Santos. Today, were launching Microsofts I.T.: Its More Fun in the Philippines campaign that is in line with our plan to increase our focus on empowering Filipino-owned businesses and helping them achieve global competitiveness through productivity solutions and continuous innovations, said Karrie Capellan-Ilagan, Microsoft Philippines Managing Director, in her opening speech. To kick start this program, we will be having a 15-city productivity roadshow that will also highlight some of the most fascinating innovations in the country. These innovations, we hope, will inspire and drive entrepreneurs and businesses in using technology, powered by our IT and productivity solutions, to further achieve success. We are working together with the local government units (LGUs) to mobilize our roadshow at the provincial level and show how our technology can improve in their operations Some of the technology innovations that will be showcased in the roadshow include the Rapid Signal Electronics in General Santos, an innovation that transmits signals through wireless technology to make machines work, Taxi ATM Card Terminals in Davao, the countrys first cashless mode of transportation payment, CEPALCO Solar Power Plant in Cagayan de Oro, a power plant that has 6,500 solar panels set on two hectares of land, and Automated Rain Gauges in Iloilo, a real-time data weather system that helps forecast strong rains and flash floods. Microsoft will also be reaching out to the youth through its partner schools nationwide. Capellan-Ilagan went on to share that, We will also go around the schools to show these institutions how they can optimize technology and help in their operations. At Microsoft Philippines, our desire to empower others with technology has always centered on how it can enrich peoples lives, build businesses, and further improve our country, she said. Congressman Freddie Tinga of the City of Taguig has also expressed his support for the campaign, commending Microsoft Philippines for helping improve communities in the country. Above all, this campaign is about highlighting and increasing productivity through the use of technology. Firstly, the productivity of the individual. The campaign is in partnership with Ford Philippines, whos all new 2013 Ranger was announced to be the official vehicle for the roadshow and will carry Microsoft Philippines three Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) on the 15-city tour. Microsoft MVPs are considered the best and the brightest from technology communities around the Philippines and will actively share their technical expertise with the different communities they will visit during the roadshow.
