Why we chose Duet Enterprise

GT Advanced Technologies driving factors towards Duet Enterprise

SAP worked well for our complex purchasing & purchasing approval environment and we wanted to protect that investment. SharePoint was already widely embraced as our Corporate intranet. Needed to enable our occasional SAP users to perform simple SAP transactions without training and while on the road. We wanted to consolidate the various applications requiring electronic approvals. We were not ready to commit to a mobile device strategy, but we were embracing Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).

Best Practices and Lessons learned

Duet Enterprise implementation, hardware and software requirements more complex than anticipated. SharePoint needs to be running Version 2010; upgrade somewhat involved. SharePoint introduces latency that previously didnt exist natively in SAP.
