Photo opportunity: George Latimer talks to nurses about health care, staffing concerns The New York State Nurses Association has publicly endorsed Assemblyman George Latimer in the race for the 37th Senate District at the intersection of Guion Place and Lockwood Avenue in New Rochelle. George Latimer believes that access to affordable health care is a right, not a privilege, stated NYSNA Deputy Director Nancy Kaleda. George Latimer has always stood up for the working women and men of Westchester and we look forward to helping him continue his fight for lower taxes, affordable health care and higher staffing levels for hospitals. I am proud to receive the endorsement of the Nurses Association. We owe nurses a great debt of gratitude for the critical role they play every day in providing quality care, said Assemblyman George Latimer. Working together we must ensure that nurses can provide New Yorkers with quality affordable health care. I look forward to working with NYSNA as we take on New Yorks health care challenges. With more than 37,000 members, the New York Nurses Association is New Yorks largest professional association and union for registered nurses. The association represents registered nurses, and some all- professional bargaining units, in New York and New Jersey. It supports nurses and nursing practice through education, research, legislative advocacy, and collective bargaining. George Latimer has served as a State Assemblyman since 2004. Prior that he was a member of the Westchester County Board of Legislators including two terms as Chairman of the Board. During that time, Latimer led the board during three straight budgets yielding tax cuts of nearly 8%. Taxes in Westchester County were lower the day George left as Chairman than when he began that job. ###
