Ne i socio-demografs i i psiholo i orelati motiva postignu a 79ABSTRACT SOME SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CORRELATESOF THE ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVE Mirjana France o, Jasmina Kodopelji i Vladimir Mihi Research is dealing with the following: Do men and women differ in level or stru cture of the achievement motive? Are level of education and age significant fact orsin differentiation of young concerning the level of achievement motive? Do su chvalues as collectivism/individualism and conservativism/radicalism correlate w

ith the person`s tendency to suceed?Sample was 382 men and women, average age of 21 and different levels of education.Scale MOP 2002 (Frances o, Mihic, Bala) ha s been applied for theachievement motive measurement; level of collectivism/indi vidualism has beenmeasured by KOIN2002 (Kodzopeljic, Sa otic, Janicic) and for t he dimensionconservativism/radicalism scale KORA2002 (Janicic, Majstorovic, Genc ) has beenused. All scales mentioned have very good metric characteristics.Resul ts show that men and women do not differ significantly concerning thescore at th e achievement motive scale, but they do differ in two factors that ma e thismoti ve. Women show more persistancy in achieving the aim and more often, comparedto men, find pleasure in achieving those aims. Concerning the level of education, o nlyone component (competition) showed relevant differences. Younger and less edu cated people showed higher tendency to compete.Total score at the MOP2002 scale ccorrelates positively with the total score atthe conservativism scale; also, co rrelation has been found between components of these two dispositions. Keywords : achievement motive, value orientations, collectivism, individualism, conservati vism
