PYROELECTRIC DETECTORS
Introduction Pyreos is pleased to present our unique thin film pyroelectric single element detector in TO39 package. The detector is ideal for use in FTIR applications due to its fast response, and flat, stable responsivity up to ~ 1 KHz frequency. The rugged solid state nature of our pyroelectric sensor chip gives rise to exceptional thermal and chemical stability.

Unlike other FTIR materials, the Pyreos thin film pyroelectric sensor offers improved performance when miniaturized, which is harnessed by combining with a focusing ZnSe lens in the component package, to offer large IR beam capture and exceptional FTIR performance. Package Information & Circuit Diagram:

ZnSe Plano Convex Lens Information When a ZnSe focusing lens is carefully sealed into the package aperture, it is possible to capture up to ~50 times more IR beam signal onto our very small, fast sensitive detector, resulting in exceptional FTIR performance over a very wide wavelength range. Useful wavelength range 0.7~20 m Lens Diameter = 3.50.1mm Refractive Index = 2.41 @ =10m Back Focal Length = 2.080.2mm Centre Thickness = 1.50.1mm Radius of Curvature = 3.787mm1%

The plano surface of the lens is located 2.1mm from the IR die pixel

Pyreos can also supply at customers request an FTIR sensor packaged without a window, or with an Ar coated Ge filter window. Our FTIR sensor material is temperature stable and chemically robust, allowing it to be used without a filter window in the package, to enable measurement across the widest possible wavelength range, or enabling customers to mount their own proprietary filter. For those customers seeking a low cost FTIR sensor for an entry level product, we offer an FTIR detector for application at 10-300Hz operation packaged with an anti-reflection coated germanium filter window (datasheet PYFTIR-01).
