Module 1 Overview Skills Introduction to Video This module is designed to provide an introduction of video communications to students and includes the topics of history, ethics, careers, and equipment. Students will be able to: Explore historical content, ethics and careers. Apply correct care and use of video equipment guidelines. Learn how to operate a tripod and video camera. Develop awareness of editing equipment. Recognize roles of video production team.

Module 2 Overview Skills

Basic Video Concepts This module is designed to provide an introduction to video production concepts, skills and techniques. Students will be able to: Explore historical content, ethics and careers Utilize pre-production techniques. Create teacher-directed video and audio projects Apply principles of filming and editing Learn video editing techniques. Evaluate/critique video communication projects

Module 3 Overview Skills

Introduction to Video Communications This module is designed as an introduction for students to effectively communicate through video production projects. Students will be able to: Explore historical content, ethics and careers. Utilize pre-production techniques. Create video and audio projects to effectively communicate a message. Apply principles of filming and editing Learn video editing techniques. Incorporate post-production techniques Apply principles of filming, composition, lighting, audio, and special effects. Evaluate/critique video communication projects

Module 4 Overview Skills

Intermediate Video Communication This module is designed to refine and extend effective video communication techniques. Students will be able to: Explore historical content, ethics and careers. Utilize pre-production techniques. Create self-directed video and audio projects. Adapt principles of filming and editing to effectively communicate. Learn video editing techniques. Incorporate post-production techniques Extend principles of filming, composition, lighting, audio, and special effects. Evaluate/critique video communication projects

Evaluation: Rubrics will be used for evaluating video projects The process as well as products will be graded Built into the grade will be the students ability to stay on task, work in a cooperative manner and demonstrate individual responsibility Quizzes Students evaluate and critique their own products, their team efforts and each others final videos Students will submit sample videos that they think best illustrate a variety of mastered skills Students evaluate and critique their own products, their team efforts and each others final videos
