Introduction

In Catch Us If You Can by Catherine MacPhail, Rory is one of the most interesting characters that I look up to. He is a young boy but he shows great courage and determination when he goes on an adventure to stop the authorities from separating him and his grandfather.

Rory is also very responsible and mature for his age. He takes good care of his Granda, making sure that

he takes his medication and eats his meals. Rory even stops doing his favourite activities because most of his time is taken up caring for Granda. At a time when most children have adults taking care of them, Rory has to take care of his grandfather, the only adult in his home. Another quality that I admire in Rory is his ability to forgive and move on with his life. Although he is angry at his father for leaving him and his mother when he was small, he still forgives him and even accepts his new family with open arms.

Closing -Conclusion

These are the reasons why I choose Rory as the character that I look up to in this novel.

Introduction

In the novel, Catch Us If You Can by Catherine MacPhail, the one incident that I remember most is when Rory thought Granda had died. 5

Content =-Textual evidence

After a narrow escape from the authorities, Rory and his grandfather stopped to rest in a bus shelter. When Rory could not wake up Granda, he thought Granda had died. The frightened Rory ran to get help and when he returned to where his Granda was, he noticed his grandfather had fallen and appeared to be dead. I remember the incident the most because I thought that Granda had died. I felt sad for Rory because all his efforts would have been for nothing and he would have felt guilty for taking his grandfather away from Rachnadar. Luckily, Granda did not die. Rory managed to get help in time and Granda was taken to the hospital.

Closing -Conclusion

These are the reasons why I remember the incident the most.
