Grand Master Flash!- You have mastered expectations Identifying Variables Collecting and Representing Data Written Explanations
Student can correctly identify all of the following: manipulated, control and responding variables. Student can exceptionally represent data graphically. Tables and diagrams are excellently labeled with titles, and axiss are appropriately labeled and numbered. Student does all of the following exceptionally: writes clear procedures for their experiment, draws databased conclusions and indicates whether their hypothesis is supported or not.

Silver MedalistYou have almost mastered expectations
Student can correctly identify two of the following: manipulated, control and responding variables. Student can regularly collect and represent data graphically. Tables and diagrams are well labeled with titles, and axiss are appropriately labeled and numbered. Student does most of the following: writes clear procedures for their experiment, draws databased conclusions and indicates whether their hypothesis is supported or not.

Einstein prerelativity-You are developing mastery
Student can correctly identify one of the following: manipulated, control and responding variables. Student can collect and represent data graphically somewhat. Tables and diagrams are somewhat labeled with titles, and axiss are poorly labeled and numbered. Student does some of the following: writes clear procedures for their experiment, draws data-based conclusions and indicates whether their hypothesis is supported or not.

Standards
Frame and refine questions that can be investigated scientifically, and generate testable hypotheses. Design and conduct investigations with controlled variables to test hypotheses. Form explanations based on accurate and logical analysis of evidence. Revise the explanation using alternative descriptions, predictions, models and knowledge from other sources as well as results of further investigation. Accurately collect data through the selection and use of tools and techniques appropriate to the investigation. Construct tables, diagrams and graphs, showing relationships between two variables, to display and facilitate analysis of data. Compare and question results with and from other students. Communicate scientific procedures, data, and explanations to enable the replication of results. Use computer technology to assist in communicating these results. Critical review is important in the analysis of these results. Use mathematics, reading, writing, and technology in conducting scientific inquiries.
