Survey Finds Strong Support for Rose Meza Harrison Among Democrats

May 10, 2012- Corpus Christi, TX - A recent campaign sponsored automated telephone survey found strong support for Rose Meza Harrison among likely Democratic Primary voters who had made up their minds and proves that Harrison's positive message appeals to a majority of undecided Democratic voters. 735 of 1827 respondents (just over 40%) declared strong support for Rose Meza Harrison. 593 of 1827 (32.5%) respondents were undecided or had no candidate preference. After listening to a personal message from Harrison, 112 of 202 undecided voters who responded to a follow up survey, or 55.5%, responded that they would be likely to support Harrison or were leaning toward her as the only Democrat who can beat incumbent Congressman Blake Farenthold. Rose Meza Harrison had the following comments: I don't worry too much about surveys and polls; the only poll that matters is the one on Election Day. However, I do think that this survey shows that our message is connecting with voters across the District. Hardworking Texas families are ready to put aside the rigid ideology and knee-jerk slogans of politicians like Blake Farenthold. Folks care about having strong, safe communities. They care about keeping our promises to seniors and veterans, and they want to create opportunities for our children and grandchildren. The voters want to have a voice in Washington, DC - someone who will fight for hardworking Americans, protect the American Dream, and say no to big-money special interests.

Rose Meza Harrison for Congress Field Director, released the following comments on the campaign and the poll: We are clearly the strongest Democratic campaign and the only one that is building the grass roots support and campaign infrastructure needed to defeat a corporate- funded incumbent like Blake Farenthold. Just this week, more than 200 people have signed up to volunteer. We have raised 20K in the last 15 days, and in the same time we have had 135 people call the campaign office because they are excited about the campaign. We know that three weeks can be a lifetime in politics and we intend work every waking hour between now and May 29th to reach out to every Democrat here in the 27th District, but we have the momentum to win the primary and we are building a movement that will bring change to Congress by putting people first.
