Nadi Amsa 3 Brahmi

This is the 3rd Nadi Amsa in a movable sign (0:24 to 0:36), 148 th in a fixed sign (29:24 to 29:36) and the 78 (15:24 to 15:36) in a common sign. The general results of this Amsa are beautifully described in a work Navanadi and give the gist of this description. I must caution my readers that the Nadi works upon which I have been making observations are the genuine astrological treatise and not the spurious and sensation mongering stuff available in the market. Sukra Nadi, Nandi Nadi, Koumara Nadi etc., which are in the bazar have absolutely nothing to do with astrology proper. They are not based on science. The main basis of such spurious claims is the paisachika art. I do not propose to describe what this black-art is. I have examined hundreds of these Nadis and find them utterly useless from an astrological, scientific or even a purely predictive point of view. Those who claim to possess them exploit the credulous and cause untold ham to the psychological mechanism of the consultors.

Only nine real Nadis are supposed to exist and Druva Nadi and this also goes under the name of Satya Nadi and Sukra Nadi is the system par excellence. All my comments refer to this wonderful treatise and its unique presentation of the practical or applied astrology. One born in Brahmi Amsa has a body of fair proportion. Highly learned, he is passionate, jealous and famous. Has many brothers but the eldest is dead. The mother and father die respectively in his 31st and 32nd year when the Dasa is that of Jupiter or Saturn. Generous and enjoying the goodwill of the sovereign, he acquires a conveyance in the 30th year but falls seriously ill. In his 32nd year, he meets with a Guru. Religiously inclined he becomes very reach after his 38th year. He shines well in a foreign land but returns to his native land in his 45th year. He gets five sons and continues to be happy till his 68th year when he suffers from serious ear-trouble which is the cause of his death in his own house. His wife also dies with him. Here there is no reference to Janma Nakshatra. But according to Dhruva Nadi One born in the first part of Brahmyamsa (e.g., 0:24 to 0:30 Aries) has a middle-sized and well-proportioned body. He is sensual, likes sweet and sour things. A Brahmin, he is born near the bank of a river but lives in a sea-port. He is born in his mothers house as the third issue. The eldest (brother) is dull-witted (mandaboddhi), the second is a widow, the next to the native is a Satwika living with his father. All issues born to his step-mother die. The mother dies in his 19th year. He worships both Hari and Hara and is devoted to God and Brahmins. He is educated, sweet-tongued, righteous and well-behaved. He Marries at 16 and gets a son at 2. A linguistic, he rises in life and shines in the political field. He is a great speaker and arbitrator and commands three conveyances. He becomes endeared to others by his capacity to resolve problems deftly and skillfully. He feeds a number of people and is devoted to the preceptors. He earns much and his activities are many. At 48, he invokes the displeasure of the ruler (Government) and his services are dispensed with. He goes on a pilgrimage and has bathes in sacred rivers. On the way he his robbed of his possessions and he is liable to be poisoned also. He returns to his native land at 52. He again wins the confidence of the ruler. At 69, retires from worldly activity and takes to spiritual life. He becomes an avadhoota and roams about in different countries. At 60, when the Sun is in Aries and on a Sunday when the Moon is waxing, he leaves this world and enters Brahmloka.

When the birth is in the 2nd half of the Amsa, (e.g., 0:30 to 0:36 Aries) the native is sweet tongued, truthful and love music and dance and likes hot foods. He knows many languages and his a scholar in many subjects. He has no inheritance from his father. He is a self-made man. He has 5 brothers and 4 sisters, himself being the 4th. He is a worshipper of Siva. He shines in Politics and is a minister (rajamudradhikari). He marries after 20, He prosperous very well after marriage. His wife is very beautiful but has a slow gait. Her physiognomy has all the auspicious marks. At 21, he enters Government Service and also lives by writing. He has foresight and skill and easily gets into the confidence of the ruler. He knows how to deal with people by using the four modes of conducts (sama, dama, bheda and danda). At 25, he is very rich and he acquires vehicles. Professionally he reaches a high position a president (sarvadyakshadhikara). Intelligent and instinctively able to judge others, he presides over many lands and becomes very wealthy. His residence is always a centre of dance and music. Innumerable people live under his protection. Eating less and sleeping less he lives the life of a Brahmachari. He gets a daughter at 26 and sons at 29, 30, and 35. Two sons and the daughter are long-lived. At 30, he loses his mother and at 40, his father. He constructs a beautiful mansion in his 43rd year. His youngest brother suffers from bilious complaints and another brother, from lunacy. Another brother becomes famous but loses his right eye due to an attack of mahamari (smallpox). The native undertakes pilgrimage at 50. Maintaining his equanimity of mind he is always happy. At 55, his sons become prosperous and auspicious events such as marriage etc., takes place in his house. At 64, he loses his wife. He becomes more detached spending his time in religious studies and discourses and then secures peace of mind and discourses and then secures peace of mind. At 75, he gets spiritual illumination and voluntarily leaves the physical body. In the delineation of the results if this Amsa, details of Dasa are not given. But the following references are interesting. Birth in Aswini, Makha or Moola: Marriage in the 2nd Dasa and the Bhukti of the 8th lord. First issue Sun Dasa Moon Bhukti. 2nd issues Sun Dasa Jupiter Bhukti. Down of prosperity Venus Dasa Ketu Bhukti. Pilgrimage Rahu Dasa Rahu Bhukti. Death of mother Sun Dasa Venus Bhukti. Death of father Moon Dasa Venus Bhukti. Natives own death Jupiter Dasa Ketu Bhukti. Bharani, Puba and Poorvashadha: Marriage in the 2nd Dasa, Venus Bhukti, Fathers death 4th Dasa Suns own Bhukti, Natives own death 7th Dasa own Bhukti. Krittika, Uttara, Uttarashadha: Marriage 3rd Dasa Venus Bhukti. Fathers death 4th Dasa, own Bhukti. Natives own death 7th Dasa own Bhukti. The other asterisms are not traceable in the manuscripts available with us. Birth in Brahmyamsa is extolled as conferring profound spirituality. END
