Selection of land Kind - Whether land is fertile and solid or not. Shape - square , rectangular , triangular etc. Direction - Facing east , west , south or north. Angle of corner s - right angle , acute or obtuse.

Kinds of land Land should be fertile. though fertile land is useful for plantation yet it is suggested for vastu may b e because plantation is equally necessary for a happy home. Land should be solid. If the land is dug and refilled then it should overflow. Smell of the land should be good. It should not contain bones or polythene bags etc.

Mandir Should be in north east. You should face east to get wealth, face north to get p eace and knowledge. In temple at home, idols should face south west. In main tem ples, idols face north east and public faces south west.

Stairs Should turn clockwise while going up. Should be in south or west of the house. No of stairs should be odd. Should neve r be in brahmshtal

Useful suggestions

X The kitchen should not be directly in front of the main door. Keep all electrical /heat generating appliances In the south east corner of the room.

X Keep no borken mirrors in the house. Mirrors, sinks, wash -basins and taps should preferably be along the North -East Walls.

The safe should open towards the north or the east. So keep it along south or th e west. The toilet seat should preferably be along the North - South axis. The s eptic tank can be the North West or the South East corner of the house .

X Avoid having garbage dump, street -light pole, or boulders in front of the main gate or door. Your main door should not be opposite the main door of another house.

While swabbing the floor with any disinfectant, a little saindhava lavana or sea salt should be added. Students should study facing the north or east.

X Do not sit or sleep under a beam. X Do not hang a painting depicting war, crime, unrest, agony or distress.

X Do not have any cactus in the house Having it outside the boundary is good. X Do not have a toilet or a puja room under a staircase.

Blocking of the North -east (Ishan) portion of the house or industry restricts t he inflow of the blessings of God. It leads to tension quarrel and insufficient growth of the inhabitants; especially children of the owner. In an industry any fault, ditch or broken part in the direction of north - east will get handicapped child to the industralist.

Improper position of the bed-room/bed brings unhappiness in the married life and causes disturbed sleep. Having a toilet/fireplace in north - east corner of the house or industry can ruin it financially besides mental tension & quarrel amon gst people.

A water body or source should be in the east or North - east of the plot. Having a water body in the south - east /south position of the house can cause damage to male child/ wife of the owner. A under ground water tank in south - west can be fatal to the head of the family or owner of the industry.

More open space in north or east gives name, fame and prosperity. Leaving more s pace on the south -west side in the house can affect the male members badly; whe reas in industry it leads to financial loss and quarrel amongst partners.

Depression the south -west can result in to a serious illness to the habitants, whereas depression in north -west causes enemity and litigation. The depression in south portion of the building restricts growth besides financial problems.

Extension in the south -west may result in loss of health, loss of money and oth er unmoutable problems, whereas an extension in south -east may lead to fire. Ac cidents, theft, and court litigation.

Heavy machinery has to be installed in South, West and South -West in the factor y. Finished products are to be kept in the North West corner. It would help quic k movements of the stock & early recovery there of.

Transformers, generators, motors, boilers, furnaces, oil engines etc. should be kept in south -east or southern portion of the plot/building.
