October 22, 2012 Supporters, As election season draws to a close, and the defeat of Issue 3 is near, we wanted to share

some recently acquired information with you regarding Citizens for Findlay, the continuous wasteful spending by City Hall, and the misuse of government time by city employees campaigning and using taxpayer funded resources to promote their wasteful spending, and Mayor Mihalik misleading the public yet again... Do you know what Citizens for Findlay is doing to defeat Issue 3? Over 14,000 phone calls Over 2,500 door-to-door literature drops Sent over 2,000 pieces of literature to families all across Findlay Have 4 billboards all over Findlay We are as committed to saving you money, as much as City Hall is to spend it! Did you knowContribution Dollars? The biggest contributors to Citizens for Findlay are private, concerned citizens and small business owners. The biggest contributors to Assurance for Findlay's Future are unions that have already donated thousands of dollars. Did you knowCity Council is Failing Findlay Time and Time Again? On December 7, 2010 Officials Seek Bigger Budget. In 2011, City Council voted against the cost-saving measure of utilizing part-time firefighters. While the Fire Chief and Union Leadership cared enough about Findlay to stick taxpayers with a ridiculous $469,240.62 in overtime cost in one year alone. Less than a year ago, City Council bought the Hochstettler Building with intentions to make it a new Health Department at a cost of $269,111. With maintenance and insurance, the cost has now reached almost $300,000 while renovations would require an additional $500,000 of our tax dollars. Talk about poor planning; this kind of vision does not need more funding but instead needs more accountabilitysee for yourself

On Oct 16, 2012, City Council voted unanimously to allow the Safety/Service Director to spend $95,000 to pave a parking lot that has never been paved before. Director Schmelzer called it a "fairly good investment" and said "some city employees will park there". We need a city council and Mayor with the ability to make wise investments that will affect the citizens of Findlay rather than just a few city employees. We agree with Councilman Bob Nichols that "with money so tight" this isn't necessary at this time. Did you know... The Mayors Office and Fire Department are illegally and unethically using government time to organize their campaign to pass Issue 3? We've attached the email below showing Jeremy Horne using a government email address, on government time, admitting they strategized during an official staff meeting, and telling department management to use government resources to print out sign-up sheets, and return them to the mayors office, which are all illegal activities. Government buildings, resources (including email addresses) cannot be used for campaigning on taxpayer time. These were given to us, by Findlay Law Director Donald Rasmussen in cooperation of a Freedom of Information Act. Did you know that Mayor Mihalik intentionally deceived voters on WFIN saying that the claims of her staff using government time for campaign work were "not true"? However, you can see below that Mayor Mihalik knew two months before this interview that her staff was involved in illegal campaign practices, yet she continues to be untruthful about her staff and their intentional and deliberate use of government resources and time to strategize for their Issue 3 campaign. Listen to her mislead the public about 13 minutes in on WFIN: http://chirb.it/g1qtFa
