This week is a really lucky because PROF has invited an important person for us as the final year s students. The speaker is Mr Dr. Laili Nordin from Geomatika Bey ond Sdn.Bhd. his company focusing on the remote sensing technology and applicati on. Remote sensing has been revolution in many ways and has been applied in conditio n as it advantages beyond any survey method. Because of that, nowadays it necess ary for a geometrician to know what is remote sensing. There was many data/image in remote sensing and all of them have it advantages t o be use in line with project objective. Start with a spot image for agriculture to hyper spectral image to detect temperature and image that have a very detail resolution. DR has made statement in this industry the most important is our skill in remote sensing software. The more software you re known brighter future you have. But make sure to have affordable data/images in any project to be made. DR has given many example of his previous project. But the special is the UAV pr oject. It combines the concept photogrammetry and remote sensing. It makes field site more saving either time, cost and energy. In industry nowadays, we has been told that the RS technology been use in lot of different major application. The first and the larges this application been use is in plantation/agriculture field. Begin with soil detection to harvesting thi s technology has been applied and use. For town planning and housing this techno logy really important to make sure the safety of the land and the environment. T he technology also been use in detecting the risk area such has flood, drought, timber, fisheries, foresting. In other word this technology been use in all situ ation and it been show the remote sensing specialist is needed and we are the ge omantic student is the future of the technology. And we are the future geometican. This job is our opportunity and we are needed in this technology.

As the conclusion, we can say that remote sensing (RS) is an important technolog y for the industry in this age. It has many advantages and everyone needs this technology. With RS, a new things can be create and always been update and use i

n creative and innovative ways. Remote sensing technology always related to sate llite that is used as platform to capture data. But satellite imagery also has t heir limitation such as cloud cover and expensive data. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is created to cover the limitation of using satellite image. This new tech nology is very useful for monitoring or planning for certain big area. Besides t hat, the data that captured by UAV is not too compared to expensive compared to satellite image.
