Audience Questionnaire Results

We asked 10 people to fill out our questionnaire about music videos and our idea for our video. The first two questions were based around the person. We asked them their Gender and Age. Out of the 10 people who filled out our audience questionnaire, 8 were male and only 2 female. 7 out of the 10 who filled out the questionnaire were 17 years old, the remaining two were 18.

This table one the left shows that the favourite genres was Pop and R&B as 3 people circled both. These statistics are quite good for our group as our song that we are using is an Indie Pop song so it should appeal to at least 5 people, if not more, going by these results. The next section, which consisted of two questions, was directly about our song choice. The first question was simply asking if they had heard of the song and the possible answers were Yes or No. The second question followed on from this, however it only had to be answered by people who answered Yes. The question was If yes, what do you think about the song and why? The results for these two questions are quite pleasing as only 3 out of the 10 had not heard of the song, with 4 of the 7 who have heard the song, clear admirers of it. Two of the 7 have doubts over the video. The last section of our questionnaire was based around our idea and what they thought of it. We simply, in one paragraph, briefly explained our idea for our music video and then asked them whether they like our idea, with space underneath for them to express why they do or do not. The feedback from this question was outstanding as 9 of the 10 who answered the questionnaire liked our video. Some of the things people said about it are; fun, entertaining for the audience. the idea of the moments is very good. I think your interpretation of the words is unique and clever. This is obviously extremely pleasant and encouraging feedback. Unfortunately

The third question was about their favourite genre of music. These choices were; Rock, Indie, Pop, R&B, Metal, Hip-Hop and Other. They were able to pick more than one so it allowed us to see what the most and least popular genre was.

the one person who said that they did not like our idea, did not give a reason why or any feedback to this question. The last question on the questionnaire was Do you think there are any things we could include or change in order to improve our music video. This question is possibly the main one on the whole questionnaire as we want to know how we can improve our idea and what sort of things people would like to see in it. One improvement is that we should make sure there is one main character that the audience can follow and who should also be the lead singer. Other improvements that we are going to take on board and use in our video is that there needs to be lots of lighting, graphic matches and also a variety of locations so we can show different moments. We are definitely going to include lots of lighting and also have one main actor in the song who sings it as well. We will take notice of all of the feedback we have received from these 10 questionnaires and use them to improve our own video so that it interacts and connects better with the audience.
