The Plenazos Callejeros covered more than 30 boroughs with 71 events over a period of 7 years. Once a month, pleneros fans and experts would gather to play on a street corner, which helped spark the Plena movement throughout the Island. In Plenazos Callejeros, the protagonists tell their story about the movement. Los Plenazos Callejeros recorrieron ms de 30 municipios con 71 eventos durante un periodo de 7 aos. Una tarde al mes se reunan pleneros aficionados y veteranos a tocar en una esquina que se convirtieron en un movimiento que contribuy a encender la chispa plenera por toda la Isla. En Plenazos Callejeros, los protagonistas del movimiento cuentan su historia.

In this roundtable discussion, the panelists will look at the chain of plena performances and songs in New York City from the 1920s to the present time; looking at the current revival and how it is being transmitted to a new generation of pleneros. It will be followed by a demonstration of plena by the panelists. En esta charla los participantes hablan de la cadena de presentaciones y canciones sobre la plena en Nueva York desde los 20s al presente; con una nfasis en el resurgimiento hoy que se encuentran en una generacin nueva de pleneros.
